April 5, 2023 Inspection covers the requirements set forth in engineer's specifications and approved
construction documents.
-Welding inspection was performed on the following:
1. PSL Saddle to wide flange (WF) beam
2. Wood post clips to beam bottom flange
Reference: SideSway Engineering project # 21019.03, Sheet S4.2
Detail specified post -clips to be fit and welded horizontally oriented on the back of the PSL
saddle
Contractor needed to install the clips vertically, on the bottom of the WF beam
This scope of work is in non-conformance with structural documents pending Engineer of
record review.

Ladies and gentlemen —
We've reviewed the non -conforming special inspection report provided by Otto Rosenau as well as pictures of the
connection as built from the contractor.
After reviewing the loads, we have determined that the kerf plate as installed is sufficient structurally. The kerf plate
had to be installed lower than the WF beam because of the floor step and this is acceptable.
Is anything further needed from Sidesway Engineering to resolve this issue?
