PROJECT: 24-133 Edmond Condo Floor Joist Holes
SUBJECT: Holes in Existing Floor Joists
This memorandum is in regards to the floor framing of the existing condo located at 1024 5th Ave
South in Edmonds, WA. It is my understanding that up to 2" plumbing holes have been cut in some
existing 2x8 floor joists. I have reviewed photos of this condition and have determined that these
holes are structurally acceptable for the loading and spans of the joists.
Structural observations were limited to the floor joists mentioned above only. The above statements
are based on photos & emails provided to NKH Engineering LLC only. NKH Engineering LLC did not
perform a whole building analysis. Note that hidden conditions may be present and may be
structurally significant. Should structurally significant conditions arise, you may contact NKH
Engineering LLC for further review.
