The purpose of our letter is to declare that we have reviewed the geotechnical engineer's reports and understand their recommendations. We have communicated by writing the risks of loss to the building owners due to potential landslides on the site. We have incorporated all recommendations from the geotechnical engineer's report, and per their recommendations, we have designed a slope stabilization and structural support wall to reduce the potential risk of injury and property damage to the structure by landslide. Specifically, we have designed a cantilever soldier piles wall under the west end of the building foundation designed to support the building footings at this location, and to stabilize the slope in accordance with the geotechnical recommendations. The structure was designed in accordance with the requirements of the 2018 International Building Code, with Washington State, and local amendments, and is within the standard of care for structures of this type.
