Good day Chris,
The client has determined NOT to proceed with the ADU or to turn it into an Accessory Structure. So now the
permit shall just encompass the Single Family Residence. We had Mike's Plumbing and Drain Cleaning look at it with a
camera. I have attached the video along with the invoice which described the results. The entire line appears to be 6"
As for water meter size, I believe the current one is a W. I know when we were looking at doing the ADU we
were thinking of 1" meter but I don't think its necessary now. I have attached the fixture count worksheet for this
project. Let us know if you want us to reach out to the jurisdiction about it.
Appreciate you popping out those availability letters.

Hi Ed,
Are ADU policy has changed however I will honor the original policy as this was in the works before then. Did you ever
end up videoing the side sewer to confirm sizing/condition? The line needs to be 6" to point of joint connection. Do you
know if you have at least 6" running to the property line that you can extend on? I will double check to see how many
houses are on it because I don't quite remember. Are you still wanting the 1" meter? I will prepare a fee sheet. The
availability letters I will have done by end of day.

Good day Chris,
Please find attached several drawings and documents for the project at 8422 238t" Street SW in Edmonds. Our
office and the homeowner had a meeting with the jurisdiction and they advised us to talk with you. Yesterday we
chatted and you asked for a fixture count and supplied me the appropriate form. Also during our call you said that the
sooner your office can see some plans the sooner you will be able to advise us.
I have attached the sketch of the existing house which will become an Accessory Structure once we relocate it
per the attached site plan. Also attached are the floor plans for the proposed single family residence, the side sewer
card our surveyor obtained and the survey itself.
Sewer:
The current side sewer is supplied via an easement on the adjacent lot. Please let us know if the current line is
adequate for our proposed needs. Do we need to run a camera up it to test its condition? If the existing line does not
meet your requirements, I presume our only options are to either provide a new line from the street to the residence or
to replace the existing line. If we do have to provide a new line, can you give me an idea how far we would need to run
it and what it may entail?
Water:
Per my conversation yesterday, a %" water meter currently supplies this lot. The psi, based on three nearby fire
hydrants, ranges from 26-50psi. The proposed project will need fire sprinklers and though the fire department will make
the final determination, 50psi is unlikely to meet the requirements. With that said, we will most likely need to provide a
1" water meter to meet the Fire Flow requirements for fire sprinklers. If during your site research you become aware of
additional factors, please advise me.
Your guidance and advice would be appreciated.
