Montemerlo, PE ASS/oNAL ENG 01/03/2024 WAs requested by the City of Edmonds, David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) reviewed the vault design for the Iron Vista Detention Vault project. The resubmittal of the calculations and plans were provided by Sound Structural Solutions and the following review is for both the calculations and plans. The responses as detailed in the resubmittal are satisfactory with only the maintenance comment below. Sheet 2, specifically details RCT1 and RCT2, lack a concrete lid. This poses a risk of debris accumulation within the vault as trucks pass over the grate. To mitigate this issue, we strongly advise incorporating a concrete lip around all grates to minimize the deposition of debris into the vault. Civil plans indicate asphalt thickened edge between landscaping and vault grates, which addresses this issue. 14432 SE Eastgate Way Suite 400 Bellevue Washington 98007 Telephone: 425.519.6500 Facsimile: 425.519.5361
