Remarks
Arrived at Custom Steel to perform structural steel fabrication inspections, in accordance with IBC 2018 chapter 17, AISC
360-16, AWS D1.1-15 code, and shop drawings as follows:
1. Verified WABO certifications shop personnel, copies on file in office.
2. Weld procedure specifications available in office.
3. Visually inspected joint fit -up for complete joint penetration weld connections on the following:
1. WF Beam: B5 and B10.
Joint fit -up was found to conform per AWS D1.1-15 Clause 3, AISC 360-16 table N5.4-3, and shop drawing. In -
process welding observed conforms per WPS and AISC 360-16 table N5.4-2.
4. Performed final visual inspection of the following items, in accordance with AWS D1.1-15, AISC 360-16 table
N5.4-3:
1. WF Columns: C1 and C2.
2. WF beams: B3, B6, B7, B12 and B13.
3. HSS beams: B10, B15 (qty. 4), B17 (qty. 3).
Final welding was found to be in conformance with AWS D1.1-15, AISC 360-16 Table N5.4-3, and shop
drawings.
5. Performed ultrasonic inspection of CJP welds on items B7, C1, and C2. Reference ultrasonic report 466492A.
