Construction is underway for the Carranza residence. We understand that the inspector had questions regarding
some items that varied from the approved structural plans. Please refer to the responses below. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact us.
1. Column C2 was not provided at the entry door. Provide a C2 column (3 cripple studs, HF Stud) per the
structural plans at this location.
2. We understand that there is a question of how the shear will transfer from the trusses. Refer to detail
1/S6.1 .

3. We understand that HF#2 columns were used instead of HF#1. This is acceptable.

5. A header and columns were requested for an opening in the basement wall framing. Headers not
specified on the plan should be 46 HF#2 as specified in plan note 8 on 52.2.
6. We understand that there is a question regarding new sheathing. At all locations where new or existing
shear walls are specified on the plans, new sheathing shall be provided if there is no existing sheathing.
Horizontal siding is not adequate at the specified shear wall locations.
