SCOPE OF WORK & INSTALLATION NOTES • NFPA72 2022 edition citations are more stringent than previous editions. Such citations comply with previous editions. • Install new fire alarm communicator adjacent to fire alarm control panel (FACP) in accordance with NFPA72 (2022ed) 26.6.5.2. • When applicable: provide connections to FACP onboard DACT (note: not all fire alarm panels employ a factory installed DACT) for full point annunciation. FACP DACT is not subject to the requirements of NFPA72 (2022ed) 26.6.4 (per 26.6.4.1.1) • Unless specifically codified in the subject jurisdictions municipal code, connections as a minimum to monitor general fire, general trouble, and when applicable general supervisory are optional and may be employed. • Communicator primary power supply shall be achieved via dedicated duplex receptacle with protective enclosure. Such AC circuit shall be dedicated, surge protected with a breaker lock. Typically, this receptacle is employed as an extension to existing FACP circuit. • Communicator shall not receive primary power from the FACP. • Secondary power supply shall be achieved via 12v battery. See additional calculation sheet. • Installation does not adversely affect FACP secondary power supply calculations. When applicable, an additional addressable input module may be employed to monitor trouble condition of communicator. • Installation does not modify existing/previously approved fire alarm system layout, components, design, or intent. • Installation does not modify the existing/previously approved sequence of operations. System will communicate if able, and trouble on the communicator shall generate local annunciation. • Any exterior antenna, when installed, shall be surge/lightning protected. 2.
