SMOKE ALARMS AND CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS
Per IRC 2018, R314.3 Smoke alarms shall be installed in (1) each sleeping room (2) outside each sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms (3) every
floor level including basements, but not including crawl space and uninhabitable attics. In split level floor plans, at the upper level, provided there is not an
intervening door between the adjacent levels and the lower level is less than a full story below the upper level. (4) Smoke alarms shall not be installed less than 3
feet horizontally from the door or opening of a bathroom that contains a bathtub or shower unless this would prevent placement of a smoke alarm required by this
section. Per IRC R315 for new construction, an approved carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity
of the bedrooms in dwelling units within which fuel -fired appliances are installed and in dwelling units that have attached garages.

SMOKE ALARMS AND CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS
Per IRC 2018, R314.3 Smoke alarms shall be installed in (1) each sleeping room (2) outside each sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms (3) every
floor level including basements, but not including crawl space and uninhabitable attics. In split level floor plans, at the upper level, provided there is not an
intervening door between the adjacent levels and the lower level is less than a full story below the upper level. (4) Smoke alarms shall not be installed less than 3
feet horizontally from the door or opening of a bathroom that contains a bathtub or shower unless this would prevent placement of a smoke alarm required by this
section. Per IRC R315 for new construction, an approved carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity
of the bedrooms in dwelling units within which fuel -fired appliances are installed and in dwelling units that have attached garages.
