1) 1 have reviewed the geotechnical report prepared by Nelson Geotechnical Associates,
Inc dated June 23, 2022, and I understand the design recommendations outlined in
the report. I have also explained to the owner the risk of loss due to slides on the site.
2) 1 have incorporated the design recommendations indicated in the report and
incorporated them into the building design to reduce the potential risk of injury or
damage that might be caused by the earth movement predicted in the report.
3) Good engineering practice and design reduces the risk of damage when building on
geologically hazardous sites. However, there is still a potential risk of building
problems from minor earth movement such as differential settling, drywall cracks, slab
cracks, floor and wall tile cracks, concrete wall cracks, and uneven floors.
If significant earth movement occurs due to either a large seismic event or a landslide
event there is a potential for major building damage if the piles, foundation walls, and
wood framed building move with it. The owner has been made aware of these risk.
