Public Comment: Chamber Foundation Event April 26th at Opera House

President’s Report: Sheila reporting, Ed! Annual Meeting Apr 22 at 6:00 at Opera House
Treasurer’s Report: Presented by Carrie-have not received data from the city yet for the
month. Billing from the city also had issues as well, new corrected invoices going out soon.
New Businesses Added to BID: Carrie-Crumpet Shop
City Report: Todd- Snohomish County new Economic Development person Mike Fong.
Tourism Budget is healthy and now would be a good time to allocate those funds. Todd will be
bringing him down to our city early May for a round table discussion with some local Ed!
businesses. RFA vote coming up April 22. November general election new property tax levy
vote to assist with balancing the budget. Currently the city is in “the danger zone”. Lost 48
positions, not all lay offs. No Downtown services affected yet. Todd is also being spread thin
filling in on outside tasks. Restructuring will entail possibly eliminating Todd’s current
department and adding a City Administrator. Our contact will be the Economic Development
person, whoever that turns out to be. FIFA planning continues. The city will be a central contact
point for different groups that are putting on events. There will be a handbook put out by Greater
Seattle Chamber, out in November.
Chamber Program: 4th of July events are open for registration , rebrand of the 5k, Taste is now
Edmonds Block Party. Alicia and Erica are leaving.
Committee Updates
• Admin: Carrie-elections coming up at Annual meeting. Ballots are going out. Slate of
officers announcement.
• Marketing: Jen-Spring ideas Retail mystery bags, something for Restaurants. Stickers
and clings for Lovin Summer. Fall event possibly doing something in addition to First
Dibs. Carrie-Social articles highlighting Shop Local, trying to spotlight businesses
outside the main drags “Around the Corner”. Feature articles also still happening. Send
us ideas! Brouhaha may happen on July 13th with Porchfest, surveys out for feedback on
dates.
• Communication and Outreach: Annual Meeting- Carrie April 22, 6pm at Opera House,
Vinbero is donating a cash bar.
• Appearance & Environment: Carrie-waiting for budget amendment approval from the
City for our summer clings. Ordered umbrellas, holding until we know what happens
with the tariffs, we do not have budget for any price increase. May have to do a budget
amendment in July.
• New Business: Sheila-Have seen good results from the Shop Local movement. Fox &
