Meeting called to order: 8:02 AM
Approval of Previous Meeting’s Minutes: Apr 10 & 22, 2025 moved by Jen, seconded by
Ricky, discussion, unanimous approval
Public Comment: Scott Ely-Porchfest July 13, asking for $500 sponsorship from Ed! For the
event. Website is porchfestedmonds.com for more info. Beth discussed ways that host
businesses can take advantage of the foot traffic. Liz Morgan-Edmonds in Bloom Garden Tour
July 21, businesses can participate by giving discounts to participants, etc.
Board Members/Administration in Attendance: Jen Lawson, Olivia Brown Latham, Sheila
Cloney, Beth Sanger, Carrie Hulbert, Liz Morgan, Ricky Bobadilla, Connie Zuck Watkins
City of Edmonds Representative in Attendance: Todd Tatum, Megan Luttrell
Guests: Whitney Popa (Features Writer), Melissa Beckman (Molly Moon), Tristine Brennan
(Little Bipsy), Scott Ely (Porchfest), Rachel Gardner (Musicology), Kathy Solum (Edmonds
Vision)
Election of Officers- President, Treasurer, Secretary. Ballots counted- Sheila Cloney is voted in
as President, Jen Lawson is voted in as Treasurer, Liz Morgan is voted in as Secretary.
President’s Report: Sheila- BID Refresh in progress, meetings are scheduled with any board
members that she has not yet met with. Will be meeting with the City Attorney to get a full
understanding. Discussed a possible Board Retreat some time in the Fall to plan.
Treasurer’s Report: Presented by Carrie- assessments slightly down from projection, City
Council needs to approve use of some of our fund balance for the window cling project.
New Businesses Added to BID: Ricky- 3 new-N3W Normal, Myo-spir, Corwin Insurance
Group
City Report: Todd- May 22 Mike Fong Economic Development Director for Snohomish County
will be meeting with the BID board 1:15 -1:50pm. Will do a walking tour of downtown and Aurora.
Would be with Sheila, Carrie, Ryan Crowther from the Chamber. Budget stuff as normal, RFA
vote passed which is helpful. Tomorrow is the city budget retreat discussing alternate revenue
ideas. Ideas may include B&O tax increase. Will be decided by mid July what will be put on the
ballot or decided by City Council. Property tax is currently capped at 1%, which would have to
be voted on by the residents to change it.
Chamber Program: 4th of July events are open for registration , rebrand of the 5k, Taste is now
Edmonds Block Party. Geo & Teresa are replacing Ericka and Alicia
Committee Updates
• Admin: Carrie-No update
• Marketing: Jen-Pride Stride is not happening this year, but we encourage business to
do windows and displays. Lovin Summer is coming up, clings can be ordered soon.
Brouhaha is pairing with Porchfest, both Sat and Sun for the sidewalk sale. First dibs in
the Fall. FIFA 2026 is still in the planning stages for downtown and how we might
participate.
• Communication and Outreach: Sheila- May 12, Mondays on Main is an online event
put on by the Main Street organization, good place to become familiar. Looking to create
communication zones in downtown, with each board member being responsible for a
zone. Discussed other events that we might sponsor besides Porchfest, perhaps Pride.
Olivia moved that we allocate the $500 for the 2025 Porchfest, seconded by Beth,
discussion, unanimous approval.
• Appearance & Environment: Carrie- window cling project finally moving forward.
Funds approved by the City Council. Shelia discussed perhaps acknowledging the
Rotary for their garbage pickup efforts. Umbrellas-manufacturer will honor the agreed
price. Need a new umbrella volunteer for di stribution in the fall. They are currently in the
basement of Fox & Bottle.
