AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, PROVIDING FOR THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY
BY INCREASING THE REGULAR PROPERTY TAX LEVY AT
101 % OF THE CURRENT LEVY LIMIT.
WHEREAS, the City Council and the City of Edmonds has met and considered its
budget for the 2025-2026 biennium; and
WHEREAS, the City's actual levy for the previous year was $11,591,020 for the
regular property levy; and
WHEREAS, the population of this district is greater than 10,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. An increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the levy to
be collected in the 2026 tax year.
The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year shall be
35,997.18, which is a percentage increase of .31% from the previous year. This increase is
exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly
constructed wind turbines, solar, biomass, and geothermal facilities, and any increase in the value
of state assessed property, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made.
Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should
be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence,
clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifically
delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5)
days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
