Resolution 11200006.900000 WSS/gjz 3/10/06 RESOLUTION NO. 1120 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING A COMPLIANCE PLAN PURSUANT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964, WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation and the federal government, pursuant to the terms of the grant application, have required the City to adopt a plan assuring compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987; and, WHEREAS, the City already, maintains certain resources such as the training provided by its human resources department which provides training to the City's employees and performs or coordinates functions such as data gathering and investigation coordination; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to approve a plan proposed by the Mayor and his staff to achieve compliance with the grant requirements, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The attached Exhibit A, incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth, setting forth certain grant requirements and a proposed City plan for implementation is hereby approved. Section 2. The Community Services Director is authorized to provide an executed Non -Discrimination Agreement for Cities with Populations under 100,000, Appendix {WSS627618.DOC;1/00006.900000/} - I - 28.72 (Pages 28-19 through 28-25) to the Washington State Department of Transportation in conjunction with the City's grant application and the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement..
