An Ordinance to prevent animals from running at large within
certain limits of the Town of Edmonds.

j! Be it ordained by the Council of the Town of Edmonds.
'h SECTION 1: Bulls, vicious cows, horses, swine, sheep, goats
and other animals of such species, shall not be permitted to rur_
at large within the following limits of the Town of Edmonds, towit:
Beginning at a point at the low water mark west -of and op-
posite of the section line between Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, Town-
ship 27, Range 3 East; thence East on said Section lire to the
` Northwest corner of the Lorthwest Quarter of the S ortheast Quarter
of Section 26; thence South 80 rods; thence East 160 rods; thence
Forth 80 rods; thence East 160 rods; thence forth 160 rods;thence
West 160 rods; thence North 80 rods; thence Nest to low water line;
thence Southwesterly along the low water line to place of beginning.

(SECTIOU 2: The Town marshal or any other public officer of
said Town shall take up and impound ary and all of the aforesaid
�r animals found running at large within the limits described in
Section 1 of this Ordinance and for each day or part of day that
any such animals shall be impounded the owner thereof shall pay to
the Town Marshal fifty cents for the care and keeping of each
C animal and the further sum of fifty cents as impounding fee.
MA'O �SECTIOV 3: If, at the expiration of two days the amount to
due shall not be paid the TownMarshal shall proceed to give at.
.east five days notice to be published in the official newspaper
JW-bf the Town or written notices posted in three conspicuous places
of the time and place when and where he will expose the said
animal or animals for sale by public auction at which time and at
which place he shall at public auction expose the said animal or
animals for sale and out of the proceeds thereof he shall pay the
residue to the Town Treasurer. The said notice shall describe the
said animal or animals with certainty and shall state to whom, if
anyone, the said Town Marshal supposes the said arimal or animals
belong and if said owner or owners name is wholly unknown to
said marshal, that fact shall be stated in said notice. If such
owner shall be known to the Town Marshal and can be found withir
the town a copy of such notice shall be served upon him at least
one day prior to said sale.
SECTION 4: The Town Marshal shall file with the Clerk within
five days after such sale a report in writing setting forth all
the above matters touching any such sale. Such report shall be
signed by said Marshal and said report shall be conclusive of the
facts therein stated.
SECTION 5: Zor all services not provided for in this ordi-
nance, the Tong Marshal shall be allowed the usual fees for simi-
lar services payable oIt of the proceeds of said sale.
y�3 SECTIOL 6: The owner of such animal or animals may have the
sam delivered to him at any time before the sale by paying all
�� accrued exper_ses or at any time after such sale on application to
1 tn_ he TowCouncil, such owner shall be entitled to a Warrant on
the Treasurer for any surplus of such sale which may have been
paid to the Treasurer.
' SECTION 7: The owner of any such animal
