ORDINZCE N 0. 70.
An Ordinance closing places of public resort, billiard halls,
pool rooms and ten pin alleys on the first day of the week com-
monly called Sunday.
Be it ordained by the Council of the Town of Edmonds.
SBOTI M 1: That the owner, proprietor or keeper of any placeAlw
of public resort, or of any place kept and maintained as abilliard
room or hall or pool room or ten pin alley within the limits of
the Town. of Edmonds, or the agents, servants or employees of any
such owner, proprietors or keepers of ary such places shall close �9
such places at the hour of eleven o'clock and thirty minutes on p 1!7
each and every Saturday night and said places shall be maintained
closed from said hour thence to the hour of five o'clock in the
forenoon of the Monday next fallowing said Saturday night and dur-
ing said period of time the owner, proprietor or keeper of any
place of public resort or of any billiard hall or room, or of any
pool room, or of any tenpin alley, or the agent or servant or
employees of any such persons, shall not apex; or cause to be opened
any of the places herein enumerated nor permit any persons to
play at any game of billiards, pool or tenpins therein; the play-
ing of any such games for past time or amusement shall be deemed
a violation of the provisions of this 0rdinance.
SECTION 2: Who shall violate any provisions of Section 1 of
this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and on con- /
viction before a Court of competent jurisdiction shall be punished
by a fine of not less than five dollars nor more than ninety, or
by imprisonment for a period not to exceed thirty days, or by both
fire and imprisonment for each offense committed.
-�l SECTI0N 3: This ordinance shall be in full force at the ex-
piration after its passage.
