An Ordinance regalatzrg the bowers of the Board of Trustees
of the Public Library of the CityofEdmonds, and fixing their term
of office.
The City Council of the City of Edmonds do ordain as follows:
SECTIOY 1: That the Board of Tr.is" es o'- the Public Library '
of the City of Edmonds shall have the power to regulate the loan
of books, the conduct of the Library ro o-in, and purchase of books
within the appropriation made by the uo'uxcil for such purposes. 1�1
They shall have the power to purchase all xecessary supplies for
the proper conduct of the Library and to do all other things that
from time to, time shall be ordered by the Council; that they shall
have the power to make all needful rules ard regulations for the
conduct of its meetings and shall audit all bills for all supplies
purchased by them for the conduct of the Library. Provided, how-
ever, that the Board of Trustees shall, at all times, be deemed
subordinate to the Council and the Council shall have power to
settle all disputes and regulate, modify and supervise the exercise
of the powers herein granted.
SECTIOL 2: The term of office of the Trustees shall begin
the first Tuesday after the first Monday of January in each and
every year, one each of which shall terminate each year.
3ECTIOL 3: A vacancy in the Board of Trustees shall take
place whenever any Trustee shall die, remove from the City or GUI✓
shall absert himself or herself from two regular meetings of the I"
Board, or whenever removed by the Mayor.
SECTIOL 4: The Mayor shall have power to remove any Trustee)
for cause deemed sufficient by him.
SECTIOL 5: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
