An ordinance prohibiting the sal<b�rXcRarge, giving away, or
otherwise disposing of intoxicating liquor within the limits of the
City of Edmonds, and prohibiting any person keeping or having in
his or her possession any such intoxicating liquor with irterat to
sell, give away, or otherwise dispose of the same, within such
limits contrary to the provisions hereof, and providing a penalty
for a violation thereof.
The City Council of the City of Edmonds do ordain as follows:
SECTIOB 1: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corpora-
tion. or association, either as principal, agent, clerk or servant,d
directly or indirectly, to sell, barter, exchange, give away or
otherwise dispose of any intoxicating liquor or to keep, or have in
his or her possession any of such intoxicating liquor with intent
to sell, give away or otherwise dispose of any such intoxicating
liquors within the limits of the City of Edmonds.
SECTIOL 2: It shall be unlawful for any person to,drink or p���
have in his unconcealed possession_ any intoxicating liquors on -Ca
any of the public streets, alleys, parks, or in or near any public
building or buildings, where public meetings are held within the
limits of the City of Edmonds.

r �SECTIOT: 3: It shall be unlawful for any person to take or , solicit orders, or make any agreement for the sale or delivery
of, or for the giving away, or to give away, deliver or handle
in any place of business, any intoxicatirg liquors within the
limits of the City of Edmonds.

SLUTIO 4: the provisions of this Ordinance shall rot apply
to
druggists or pharmacists, physicians or surgeor_s, churches or
the prorer officers thereof to dispose of such intoxicating liquor
as provided by law.
5: That the words "give away" shall rot be construed'
Ito prohibit the giving of intoxicatirg liquor to guests by a persor

in his or her private dwellirg or private apartments, unless such
Y' dwelling or apartmert shall become a place of public resort. The
phrase "ir_toxicating,liquor" as used in this Ordinance shall be
construed to include whiskey, brandy, rum, wire, ale, beer or any
spirituous, vinous, fermented, malt or any other liquor containing
intoxicating properties, whether medicated or not, and which is
capable of being used as a beverage, except.preparations compounded
by a registered drug ist, for the sale of which a special liquor
tax is not required by the laws of the United States; but it all
prosecutions for the violation_ hereof it shall only be necessary
to use the phrase "intoxicatirg liquor" in any complaint, and that
the violation hereof occurred within the limits of the City of
Edmonds.
SECTI01, 6: Any person violating the provisions of this Ordi-

thL--- Five ($5.00) Dollars nor more tharl One Hundred, ($100.00)
Dollars, or be confined in the City jail rot more thar_ thirty (30)
days, or by both such fire or imprisonment.
SECTI0L 7: This Ordir_:arce shall take effect and be in force
or and after the first day of Ju.re 1910, and shall remain in force
until the voters of the City. of Edmor_ds shall vote to license the
sale of such intoxicating liquor in said City.
