An Ordinance regulating the conduct of pool rooms and billiard �v�►"�
halls in the City of Edmonds, and prohibiting the owner, keeper,-r
agent or manager of such places from allowing orpermitting any minor
-
under the age of twenty-onee� any female of any age, from entering
or remaining in such pool room or billiard hall, and providing for
fines and penalties for the violation hereof.
The City Uouneil of the City of Edmonds do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any parson, firm, or cor-
poration, either as owner, keeper, agent or manager, in whole or 0
in part, of any public pool room or billiard hall within the City,
of Edmonds, to permit or allow any person under the age of Twenty �r,41
one years, or any female of any age, to enter or remain in any
pool room or billiard hall, whether as employee therein, visitor ��V-�
or patron; and it shall be no defense to a charge of a violation
of this section that such minor misrepresented his age to such owner,
keeper, agent, or manager, but such person shall be bound to know
that such person is of lawful age.
SECTIOU 2: It shall be unlawful for any person, either as
owner, keeper, agent, or manager, in whole or in part to keep any
pool room or billiard hall open for business later than eleven
o'clock P.M., or to open the same earlier than six o'clock A.M.,of
any day, or keep such pool room or billiard hall open on the first
day of the week commonly called Sunday.

SECTIOL 3: It shall be unlawful for any person, either as
owner, keeper, agent, or manager, to keep,,or allow to be kept,
in any pool room or billiard hall any tables for the purpose of
playing cards, or allow or permit the playing of cards, or any
other kind of game, whether with cards or any other gambling device,
in such pool room or billiard hall, or to conduct any pool room or
billiard hall for profit in any room where the same has not a free
and unobstructed view from the public street. Provided, that the
last clause shall not apply to private clubs which are not conduct-
ed for profit.
S,OTIOL 4: To license for the conduct of such pool room or
P'illiard hall shall issue hereafter unless application therefor
shall first be made to the Ui.ty Council, who, if such applicant be
of sufficient moral character, may grant a permit for such license
to issue, and such permit, signed by the Mayor, shall be presented
to the City Treasurer before such license fee shall be accepted by
him. Provided, that such license shall not be transferable, except
by permission of the Council.
SECTION 5: Any person violating the provisions of this
Ordi-nance shall, on conviction thereof in any court having jurisdiction
,r 'thereof, may be fined in any sum not less than ten dollars, nor more

than two hundred dollars, or be imprisoned in the City jail not less
than five days or more than thirt days, and in addition thereto
the City Council shall have jurisicti on to cancel such license at
any time for a violation of this Ordinance.
SECTIOF 6: All Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, or any sec-
tions thereof, in conflict with the provisions hereof,are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 7: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
five days after its publication in accordance with law.
