-a JO n Ordinance providing for the improvement of Railroad Avenue
8 1n the City of Edmonds, Washington, by the building of a wooden
sidewalk, eight feet wide, on the East thereof between the South
side of George Street and the South side of James Street, all in
accordance with Resolution No.101 of the City Council of the City
of Edmonds, and creating a local improvement district therefor,,
and providing that payment for said improvement be made _by special
assessments upon property in said district payable by the mode of
"immediate payment", and creating a local improvement fund therefor.
The City Council of the City of Edmonds do ordainaas follows;

SECTION, 1: That Railroad Avenue be improved from the
side of George Street to the south side of James Street by
construction of a wooden sidewalk, eight feet wide, between
points named, all in pursuance of Resolution No.101, of the
Council of the City of Edmonds, and according to the plans
specifications therefor prepared under the direction of the

SECTION 2: That the cost and expense of said improvement,'61j
including all necessary and incidental expenses, shall be borne
by and assessed against the property included in the assessment
district hereinafter created in accordance with law. The City of
Edmonds shall not be liable in any manner for any portion of the
cost and expense of said improvement, except as herein provided.
SECTION 3: That there is hereby established a "Local Improve--
ment District No. 17" which said district is described as follows
Late Lots One (1) to Twelve (12) inclusive of Block Three (3), 1 7
Ghephart's First Addition to Edmonds, as the same appears of re-
cord in the office of the ounty Auditor of said County, and which
shall be known as an enlarged district under the laws of the State
of Washington.
SECTIOT. 4: That for the purpose of this improvemert there -�
is hereby created and established a special fund ;o be called
"Local Improvement Fund, District Lo.17".
SECTIO1 5: That the cost and expense of said improvement
shall be defrayed by special assessment payable by the mode of
"Immediate Payment" as defined by law and the charter and Ordi-
r•ances of the City of Edmonds. Warrants bearing irterest at the
rate of eight nercert (8a) per annum until paid shall be issued
to the contractor for the redemption of as many of the warrants
issued on the Local Improvement District Fund on estimates of the
City Engireer, as may be redeemed by cash.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
by virtue of its passage and approval and its publication in ac-
cordance with law.
