An Ordinance Regulating the Conduct of Public Dances and Pub- `
lie Dance Halls within the Corporate Limits of the City of Ed- j,af'w
monds, Snohomish County, Washington, Providing a License Fee of
$3.90 for such Dances and providing for a special police officer
in attendance at the same, and providing a penalty for the viola-
tion thereof.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Edmonds
in regular meeting assembled, as follows:
SECTIOL 1: For the purpose of this act an dance for vihich

an admission or entrance fee is charged shall be considered a
public dance, whether the attendame be upon invitation or other-
wise.
SECTIOrI 2: Any person, society or corporation hereafter de- y.
siring to conduct a public darce within the corporate limits of
the City of Edmonds shall first procure from the Mayor of said
City a license granting them the right to conduct such dance ar gp
shall at the time such license is issued pay therefor a license`s

SECTIOF 3: That there shall be in attendance at all public
dances hereafter given or conducted within the corporate limits
of the City of Edmonds, a special police officer to be appointed
by the Mayor, which officer shall have the duty of seeing that
such public dance is conducted in an orderly and lawful manner�.-
For the purpose of carrying out his duties as provided in this
section, said officer shall be clothed with all the rights and
powers of the regular police officers in said City, including the
power of making arrests.
SECTIOF 4: Said special police officer,shall receive as U�
compensation for each dance attended by him in such capacity the
sum of $3.00. -�'ar'�

violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be subject to
a fine of not more than $50.00.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City
of Edmonds, its approval by the Mayor and its publication ace
