NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY. GIVEN. that the following propsoed emergency Or-
dinance has been introduced before the City Council, of the City of
Edmonds, and will be voted upon by the City Council at its regular
meeting to be held in the City Hall of said city on. Tuesday, May 7, 1940,
at 7:30 o'clock P. 11. Any taxpayer or water user of said City may appear
at such meeting and be heard for or against the adoption thereof:

ORDINANCE 110. 529
An Ordinanoe providing for the purchase of material necessary for
the construction of a water main along Eleventh Street, in the City of
Edmonds, from Main Street to the North city limits; thence North along
Olympic Avenue to Duston's Corner; also for other.neeessary additions,
betterments and repairs to the water system of said City; providing for
the issuanoe of emergency warrants against the Water Fund, in payment
thereof, and declaring an eme:ngncy.
BE IT ORDAINED 3Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS:
Section 1; That the City of Edmonds shall purchase the necessary
material for the construction of a water main along Eleventh Street, in
the City of Edmonds, from Main Street to the North city limits; thence
North along Olympic Avenue to Duston's Corner, together with material
necessary to be used in connection with other additions, betterments
and repairs to the water system of said City.
Section 2: That by reason of the necessity for furnishing water
to the residents along Eleventh Street, in siad City of Edmonds, and along
Olympic Avenue from the North city limits to Duston's Corner, and the
necessity for making other necessary betterments, additions and repairs
to the water system of said City, and by reason of the fact that the labor
incident to such betterments, additions and repairs can be, if such work
is done in the immediate future, furnished by the Federal Government
under W.P.A., an emergency in hereby delcared to exist with reference
thereto which could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of the
making of the last annual budget.
Section 3; That the estiated cost and expenditure required for
the material to be used in connection with said repairs, additions, re-
newals and betterments, is the sam of Five Thousand ($5,00.00) Dollars,
which sum shall be paid by the issuanoe of emergenoy warrants drawn on the
Water Fund of said City.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full foroe
and effect upon its passage and publication as required by law.
Passed by the City Council of Edmonds this 7th day of May , 1940.
