An Ordinance providing for, the improvement of Front Street
from Main street ::orth to the C;ity limits; the improvement of
Second Street fr.Main Street to Edmonds, Street; the improvement
of Fifth Street 'rom B.ia11 Street to Edmonds Street; the improve-
ment of Bell_ Stre• t from Front Street to Fifth Street; The
improvement of E1ends Street from Front Street to Sixth Streit;
the improvement of Daley Street from Third Street,to Seventh
Streeu and the improvement of Glen Street from Sixth street to
Seventh street and Sprague Street from fourth to Sixth street,
by grading and leveling the above described streets and paving
said streets with a bituminous road type paving mix together with
the installation, along said streets, of standard curbs and
gutters where suc. do not presently exist, and such other work
as may be necess •y to make c complete improvement; providing that
the payment for seid improvement be made by special assessment
on the property ir, said Improvement District under the mode of
payment by bonds for material used, fixed estimate, and all
other expenses, except that forty per cent of the cost of pav-
ing, including the preparation for paving, shall be paid by the
City of Edmonds from the Street Fund.
Whereas, by Resol _tion of Intention No. 114 of the City of
Edmonds the City .;ouncil of the City of Edmonds has declared its
intention to orde the improvement, as above outlined, together
with the doing performance of all other work necessary in
connection therewtth to make a complete improvement in accord-
ance with the s and specifications prepared by the City
Engineer.
Now, Therefore, the City Council of the City of Edmonds Does
hereby Ordain:
Section 1: That ,.ront Street -be improved from Main Street North
to the City limit;; that Second Street be improved from Main
Street to Edmonds Street: that Fifth Street be improved from
Bell Street to ....:;onds Street; that Bell street be improved from
Front Street to Fifth Street; that Edmonds Street be improved
from Front Street to Sixth Street; That Daley Street be improved
from Third Street to Seventh Street, and that Glen Street be
improved from Sixth Street to Seventh Street and Sprague Street
from fourty to sixth Street, by grading and leveling the above
described Streets and paving said Streets with a bituminous
road type paving mix together with the installation, along said
Streets, of standard curbs and gutters where such do not present-
ly exist, and su:: other work as may be necesary to make a complete
improvement.
Section 2: That e cost and expense of such improvement, includ-
ing all necessary incidental expenses, shall be borne by and
assessed against the property included in the assessment district
herein created in accordance with law; the City of Edmonds shall
not be liable in any manner for any portion of the costs and
expenses of such improvement except that the City of Edmonds
shall pay forty per cent of the cost of paving, including the
preparation for paving, from the Street Fund.
Dection 3: -There s hereby established a Local Improvement District
to be called Local Improvement District No. 57, which District shall
include the following described property, to -wit:
Beginning at th. southwest corner of Block 13, Plat of Edmonds,
thence northeaster]; along the westerly marmin of Blocks 13 and 14
to the intersects;:- with the westerly right-of-way line of the

Great Northern Railway; thence continuing northeasterly along said
right-of-way line to the north limits of the City of Edmonds,
thence east along the north City Limits to a point 141.50 feet
east of the easterly margin of Pront Street extended; thence south-
westerly along a line parallel to and 120 feet distant from the
easterly margin of :r'ront Street to a point 120 feet northeasterly
of and measured perpendicular to the northerly margin of Edmonds
Street; thence southeasterly along a line parallel to and 120 feet
distant from the northerly margin of Edmonds Street to a point on
the east margin of Third Street; thence northeasterly along the
east margin of Third Street ; to:_thecenter _.line_ of the alley in
Block 119, Plat of City of Edmonds, thence east along the center
line of the alley in said Block 119 to the center line of Sixth
Street; thence north along the center line 'of Sixth Street to a
point 125 feet north of the center line of Glen Street; thence
east alon g a line parallel to and 125 feet distant from the center
line of Glen Street to the west margin of Seventh Street; thence
south along the west margin of Seventh Street; thence south along
the west margin of Seventh Street to the center line of the alley
in Block 101, Plat of City of Edmonds; thence west along the center
line of the alley in said Block 101 to the west margin of Sixth
Street; thence south along the west margin of Sixth Street to the
southerly margin of Block P, Plat of City of Edmonds; thence north-
westerly along the south margin of said Block r' to the southeast
corner of Lot 5, Block P; thence southwesterly along the easterly
lines of Lots 5 and 15 of Block A, Plat of City of Edmonds to
the southerly margin of said Block E; thence northwesterly along the
south margin of Block E to the southeast corner of Block 2, Plat
of Edmonds; thence southwesterly along the easterly margin of
Block 1, Plat of Edmonds to the southeast corner of Lot 4, said
Block 1; thence northwesterly along the southerly line of Lots 4
and 9 of Block 1 and the southerly line of Lots 4 and 9 of Block
6 and the southerly line of Lot 4, Block 7, Plat of Edmonds to
the center line of the alley in said Block 7; thence southwesterly
along the center line of the alley in said Block 7 to the north
margin of Main street; thence northwesterly along the north mar-
gin of Main street to the point of beginning.
Section 4: A special fund is hereby created to be called Local
Improvement District Pund No. 57, which shall consist in the agg-
regate of the several amounts assessed, levied and collected on
the several amounts assessed, levied and collected on the several
lots and parcels of land in said Local Improvement District, and
the proceeds of the sale of the bonds of said District for the
purpose of defraying the cost and expense of such improvement,
Out of said fund shall be paid the bonds, the interest thereon,
and the entire cost of such improvement.
Section 5: The costs and expenses of such improvement shall be
defrayed by special assessments payable in ten equal installments,
with interest thereon at the rate of five (5%) per cent per annum,
payable annually, under the mode of payment by bonds, as provided
by law and the Ordinance of said City. Bonds bearing interest
at the rate of five (5%) per cent per annum, payable on or before
twelve years from date of issue, shall be issued in payment of
the cost and expense of such improvement, or the City of Edmonds
may at its election, sell said bonds and make payment in cash in
the manner provided by law and the Ordinances of said City.
