AN Ordinance providing for, the improvement of Main Street from
Pifth Street to `!ixth Street by paving the center strip of said
Street with hot .?ant -mixed asphaltic concrete, and such other
work as may be necessary to make a complete improvement; pro-
viding that the Payment for said improvement be made by special
assessment on the property in s�.id Improvement district under the
mode of payment by bonds for materials used, fixed estimate, and
all other expenses, except that forty per cent of the cost of
paving, includin, the preparation for paving, shall be paid by the
City of Edmonds from the street fund.
WHEREAS, by Resolution of Intention No. 115 of the City of EdmJr,ds
the Ci�y Council of the City of Edmonds has declared its intention
to order the improvement, as above outlined, together with the
doing and performance of all other work necessary in connection
therewith to make a complete improvement in accordance with the
plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer.

Section 1: That Lain Street be improved from r ifth Street to
Sixth Street try paving the center strip of said Street with hot
plant -mixed asphaltic concrete, and such other �vork as may be
necessary to make a complete improvement.
Section 2: That -:he cost and expense of such improvement, includ-
ing all necessary incidental expenses shall be borne by and assessed
against the property included in the assessment district herein
created in accordance with law; the City of Edmonds shall not be
liable in any manner for any portion of the costs and expenses
of such improvement except that the City of Edmonds shall pay
forty per cent of the cost of paving, including the preparation
for paving, from the Street 2undi.
Section 3: There is hereby established a Local Improvement Dis-
tirct to be called Local Improvement District do. 58, which District
shall include the following described property, to wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of the
alley in Block 120, Plat of the City of Edmonds, and the center
line of Pifth Street; thence northerly along the center line of
Fifth Street to the intersection with the center line of the
alley in Block ➢, Plat of City of Edmonds, thence east along the
center line of t:-c alley in said Block D to the intersection with
the center line o:' Sixth Street; thence south along the center
line of Sixth Street to the intersection with the center line of
the alley in Block 120; thence west along the center line of the
alley in Block 120; thence west alone the center line of the
alley in Block 120 to the point of beginning.
Section 4: i� special fund us hereby created to be called Local
Improvement District Pund No. 58, which shall consist in the
aggregate of the -everal amounts assessed, levied and collected
on the several and parcels of land in said local Improvement
District, and the proceeds of the sale of the bonds of said Dis-
trict for the purpose of defraying the cost and expense of such
improvement. Out ,of said fund shall be paid the bonds, the interest
thereon, and the entire cost of such -improvement.
Section 5:. The costs and expenses of such improvement shall be
defrayed by ._apeciail assessmants payable in ten eoual installments,
with interest thereon at the rate of five (5 ). per cent per annum,
payable annua ly, under the mode of payment by bonds, as provided
by law and the Ordinances of said City. Bond, Learing interest
at the rate of five (5%) per sent per annum, payable on or before
twe$ve years from ante of issue, shall, be issued in payment of the
and expense of such improvement, or the City of Edmonds may at ite
election, sell said bonds and make payment in cash in the manner
provided by law ana the Ordinances of said City.
