AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF CERTAIN LANDS AND PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF EDMONDS FOR
PUBLIC PARK PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, after due consideration and in conformity with the recom-
mendations of the City's Professional Planner, the City Council of the City of
is Edmonds has found that it is necessary and proper to acquire certain lands to
provide a more adequate park and recreationai program in the City, and
WHEREAS, the owner of the following described tract is willing to
sell said land to the City of Edmonds for the sum of Twenty Thousand ($20, 000.)
Dollars, on a real estate contrw:t, on the following terms: $5, 000.00 cash,
down payment, and the balance payable in three (3) equal annual installments,
plus accrued interest at the rate of six (6%) per cent per annum computed on
the declining principal balances,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That it is necessary, and in the best interest of the general
health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Edmonds, to acquire
for public park purposes the following described property, situate in the County
of Snohomish, State of Washington, to -wit:

Parcel A: All that portion of Government Lot 2, Section 23, Township
27 N.R. 3 E.W. N.I. described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of
South line of said Lot 2 with Westerly line of right of way of Great
Northern Railway Company; running thence North 410 32' East along said
Westerly line of Railway a distance of 50 feet ; thence North 480 28'
West a distance of 168.48 f eet to meander line; thence South 510 39'
West along said meander line a distance of 53.5 feet to the true point

the true point of beginning; thence North 480 28' West 54.69 feet;

All situate in the County of Snohomish, State of Washington
SUBJECT TO Rights of other owners of tracts in Walker-Reltz Subdivision to
use the following for road purposes: Southeasterly 4 1/2 feet of Tract 7; South-
easterly 7 1/2 f eet of Tract 6; Northeasterly 8 1/2 feet of Tract 13; Northeasterly
8 1/2 feet and Northwesterly 7 1/2 feet of Tract 14; and Northwesterly 7 1/2 fL'et
of Tract 15. All as disclosed in contract of sale recorded under Auditor's
File No. 1440420.
Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Edmonds be and he is hereby
authorized to enter into a contract for the purchase of the said land, for the
sum of Twenty Thousand ($20, 000.00) Dollars, on terms of Five Thousand
($5, 000.00) Dollars down, and the balance payable in three (3) equal annual
installments, plus accrued interest at the rate of six (6%) per cent per annum
• computed on the diminishing principal balances.
Section 3. That the total indebtedness of the City of Edmonds will not
be increased by this purchase to an excess of one and one-half (1-1/216) ner
cent of the taxable valuation of the property within the City of Edmonds.
Section 4_ That the funds for the purchase of s: ' property shall be
drawn from the General Fund of the City of Edmonds.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon
its passage and publication according to law.
