Ordinance 1390ORDINANCE NO. / 0 AN ORDINANCE ING THE GE AL TAXES FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR CO INCING JANUARY 1, 1969, ON ALL PROPERTY, BOTH REAL AND SONAL, IN SAID CITY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR THE ::~POSE OF RAISING SUFFICIENT TO CARRY ON THE S RAL DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY FOR THE ENSUING YEAR AS REQ. .E BY LAW; AND PROVIDING FOR THE COT,T.F,CTION T ',_ OF. AS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, having heretofore adopted by Ordinance the final budget for the fis- cal year 1969, and having further ascertained the amounts necessary to be raised by taxation, which amounts do not exceed the amount necessary to be raised by taxation as specified in the preliminary budget of said City, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Thatthere shall be and hereby is levied on all real and personal property in the City of Edmonds, subject to taxation, current taxes for the ensuing year commencing January 1, 1969, the sum of $306,817.87 for the Current Expense Fund and $19,540 for the Firemen's Pension Fund (which is approximately 12 mills including that provided by RCW 41.16.060 on an assessed valuation of $33,217,086) and the sum of $108,785.96 for the Street Department (which is approximately 4 mills on an assessed valuation of $33,217,086). Section 2. That in addition to the above levies for the ensuing fiscal year 1969, there shall be and hereby is levied current taxes of $36,792.50 (which is approximately a 1.4863 mill property tax on an assessed valuation of $24,753,567) the purpose of which is to retire the outstanding obligation incurred by the City for Refunding General Obligation Bonds which retired bonds that had been issued after an affirmative vote of the citizens in favor of the construction of Fire Station No. 2 for said City and the construction of the Edmonds Civic Center. Section 3. That in addition to the above levies for the ensuing fiscal year 1969, there shall be and hereby is levied current taxes of $43,485 (which is approximately a 1.3091 mill property tax on an assessed valuation of $33,217,086) the purpose of which is to retire the outstanding obligation incurred by the City after an affirmative vote of the citizens in favor of the acquisition of public parks. Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be certified to the proper County Officials, as provided by law, and the taxes here levied shall be collected and paid to the City Treasurer of the City of Edmonds, at the time and in the manner provided by the laws of the State of Washington for the collection of taxes for third class cities.
