AN ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING THE 1978 BUDGET BY AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 1964, PASSED ON DECEMBER 20, 1977, ORDINANCE
NO. 1975, PASSED ON FEBRUARY 7, 1978, ORDINANCE
NO. 1988, PASSED ON APRIL 18, 1978, ORDINANCE
NO. 2013, PASSED ON AUGUST 15, 1978, AND ORDINANCE
NO. 2030, PASSED ON OCTOBER 30, 1978, BY INCREASING
REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS TO AND FROM THE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS FUND 325; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City has previously determined the need to acquire additional
property on the waterfront in conjunction with construction of the fishing pier
in order to assure adequate space for parking, and
WHEREAS, at the time of finalization of the 1978 budget the total purchase
price per square foot and total square footage of the parcel to be acquired had
not been ascertained requiring the Council to estimate the cost of acquisition,
and
WHEREAS, an agreed purchase price has now been determined and there is an
additional sum of $5,229.00 needed to complete the acquisition, and
WHEREAS, the City has received more revenues from applicable tax sources than
anticipated in the 1978 budget and said excess revenues have not been appropriated
in the 1978 budget and are available for use in acquiring the additional property,
and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been introduced at least five (5) days prior to
its passage, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1964, passed on December 20, 1977,
and the schedule attached to said ordinance, and incorporated by reference in said
Section 2, as amended by Ordinance No. 1975, passed on February 7, 1978, as amended
by Ordinance No. 1988, passed on April 18, 1978, as amended by Ordinance No. 2013,
passed on August 15, 1978, as amended by Ordinance No. 2030, passed on August 30,1978,
is hereby amended to reflect the following change:
An increase in the revenues and appropriations
to and from the Capital Improvements Fund 325
in the amount of $5,229.00 for the purpose of
completing acquisition of the parking facilities
for the fishing pier.
Section 2. A schedule listing each separate fund, the revenue estimated
to be received by said fund, the appropriations from each said fund, and the
aggregate totals of revenues and appropriations for all of said funds is set
forth in "Exhibit A", attached hereto and incorporated in full by this reference.
Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby directed and authorized to
make the necessary line item adjustments and entries to reflect the creation
of the fund and the increase in revenues and appropriations set forth herein-
above.
Section 4. The City Council declares and finds that this Ordinance is
necessary for the public health, safety and general welfare and that an emergency
exists requiring it to be effective immediately upon passage.
