ORDINANCE NO. 2684
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP TO REDUCE THE
PLAN LINE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF PINE STREET BETWEEN
THIRD AVENUE SOUTH AND FIFTH AVENUE SOUTH FROM
FIFTY FEET TO FORTY FEET, DIRECTING THE COM-
MUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR AS PUBLIC WORKS DIREC-
TOR TO INCORPORATE SAID CHANGE IN THE OFFICIAL
STREET MAP AND FIXING A TIME THAT THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, on May 3, 1988 the City Council held a hearing
on the application of City of Edmonds to amend the Official
Street Map to reduce the right-of-way of Pine Street between
Third Avenue South and Fifth Avenue South from fifty feet to
forty feet; and
WHEREAS, the City's Hearing Examiner issued his report
recommending that said proposed amendment be approved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council after hearing finds that such
amendment conforms to the purposes of the City's Comprehensive
Plan, Chapter 505, the purposes of the Comprehensive Street Plan,
Chapter 15.40 and the purposes of the Official Street Map,
Chapter 18.50, incorporating by this reference the findings and
conclusions of said Hearing Examiner, and;
WHEREAS, the Council further finds that there is no
reasonable likelihood that right-of-way in excess of forty feet
will be required for City purposes in the future, Now, Therefore;

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Community Services Director, in his
capacity as Public Works Director, is hereby directed to amend
the Official Street Map to reduce the right-of-way of Pine Street
between Third Avenue South and Fifth Avenue South from fifty feet
to forty feet with said reduction being made to that portion of
the current plan line right-of-way lying south of Pine Street.
Said reduction will fix the southerly right-of-way boundary at
the southerly edge of the existing right-of-way.
Section 2. This ordinance, being an exercise of a
power specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not
subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after
passage and publication of the ordinance or a summary thereof
consisting of the title.
