ORDINANCE NO. 2789
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 5.27.050 RELATING TO TIME
LIMITS ON THE SALE AND USE OF FIREWORKS TO LIMIT
DISCHARGE OF FIREWORKS TO JULY 4 AND FIXING A
TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds finds that the use and
discharge of fireworks by individuals other than duly licensed

aggravating and damaging to dogs, cats and other pets;
WHEREAS, each year members of the public, particularly
children, suffer injuries from the discharge of fireworks legal
and illegal; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds no public benefit exists to
outweigh these negative, provided, however, that July 4th as the
independence day of our country has well established traditions
involving the use and discharge of fireworks and that such
discharge may be tolerated if carried on in a limited and safe
manner; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
