ORDINANCE NO. 3042
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 8.64.060(1), (6),
(9), (11), (12), (13), (14) OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE,
AND ADDING NEW SUBSECTIONS 8.64.060(22) -(31) TO THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE, IN ORDER TO REGULATE THE
NUMBER OF HOURS OF PARKING ALLOWED ON CERTAIN
STREETS AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds desires to. amend Section
8.64.060 of the Edmonds City Code in order to prohibit parking longer than three hours between
midnight and 6:00 p.m. on certain streets within the City, and
WHEREAS, establishing the three -hour parking limits will increase parking
availability in the downtown and surrounding areas, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Limited on Certain Streets. Subsections 8.64.060(1), (6), (9),
(11), (12), (13) and (14) of the Edmonds City Code are hereby amended and new subsections
22 -31 are hereby added to Section 8.64.060 to read as follows:
8.64.060 Schedule VI - Parking Limited on Certain Streets. In
accordance with Section 8.48.160, and when signs are erected
giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle for a period
of time longer than three hours between the hours of midnight and
6:00 p.m. of any day, except Sundays and public holidays, within
the district or upon any of the streets as follows:

1. Both sides of Bell Street from Sunset Avenue North to
Fifth Avenue North.
6. Both sides of Second Avenue from Dayton to Caspers
Street.
9. Both sides of Fourth Avenue from Dayton Street to
Edmonds Street.
11. Both sides of Fifth Avenue from Howell Way to Edmonds
Street.
12. Both sides of Maple Street from Fifth Avenue South to 120
feet east of Fifth Avenue South.
13. Both sides of Alder Street from Fifth Avenue South to 120
feet east of Fifth Avenue South.
14. Both sides of Edmonds Street from Sunset Avenue to Fifth
Avenue North.
22. The east side of Third Avenue North from Edmonds Street
to Daley Street.
23. The south side of Daley Street from Third Avenue North
to the alley between Third Avenue North and Fourth
Avenue North.
24. The west side of Sixth Avenue from Dayton Street to Bell
Street.
25. The east side of Sixth Avenue from Dayton Street to the
alley between Main Street and Bell Street.
26. Both sides of Main Street from Sixth Avenue to 120 feet
east of Sixth Avenue.

27. The north side of Dayton Street from Sixth Avenue North
to 120 feet east of Sixth Avenue South.
28. Both sides of Walnut Street from 120 feet west of Fifth
Avenue South to 120 feet east of Fifth Avenue South.
29. The north side of Howell Way from 300 feet west of Fifth
Avenue South to Fifth Avenue South.
30. The south side of Howell Way from 120 feet west of Fifth
Avenue South to Fifth Avenue South.
31. The west side of Fifth Avenue South from Howell Way to
Erben Drive:
Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction,.
such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other
section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
