ORDINANCE NO. 3048
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, CORRECTING SCRIVENER'S ERRORS IN
THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION PUBLISHED IN CONJUNCTION
WITH ORDINANCE NO. 3046 ANNEXING CERTAIN
PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE GATE/EATON ANNEXATION
AREA, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BE
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, following initiation of annexation of certain real property by the
election method, approval of such annexation by the Boundary Review Board, public hearings
held pursuant to statute and the certification of election results indicating a sufficient majority
to authorize annexation, the Edmonds City Council did annex certain real property known as the
Gate/Eaton Annexation Area by Ordinance No. 3046, and
WHEREAS, the legal description of the annexed property attached to said
Ordinance as Exhibit A contains certain scrivener's errors which did not affect the geographical
boundary to be annexed, but may create an ambiguity regarding the exact boundary of the
annexation tract at certain points, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to correct said scrivener's errors
and republish the appropriate legal description to the end that the ordinance of annexation will
be corrected, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Ordinance No. 3046, Exhibit A, is hereby amended to read as shown
on Exhibit A to this document. These changes correct scrivener's errors in order to conform
the annexation to the boundaries approved by the Snohomish County Review Board and
graphically shown on Exhibit B to Ordinance No. 3046 and therefore relate back to the original
effective date of October 16, 1995, at 12:01 a.m.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to publish a corrected
Exhibit A and to attach a copy of this Ordinance and the corrected exhibit to Ordinance No.
3046 so that the public may be fully informed of the precise annexation boundaries.
Section 3. Effective Date. The City Council hereby declares that an emergency
exists necessitating that this ordinance take effect immediately upon passage by unanimous vote
of the members of the City Council.
