Ordinance 31820006.900000 WSS /hrg 12/12/97 ORDINANCE NO. 3182 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE 3007 ESTABLISHING THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR AT $65,000 PER YEAR AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time established the salary for a full -time Mayor of the City of Edmonds, and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed such salary as well as salaries paid to mayors in comparably sized communities with the same levels of responsibility and the City has determined it to be appropriate to increase the salary of the Mayor, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: respect: Section 1. Ordinance No. 3007 is hereby amended in, but only in, the following The salary for the Mayor of the City of Edmonds is hereby increased to the sum of $65,000 per year effective January 1, 1998. Such salary shall remain in effect until such time as amended by action of the City Council. In all other respects, the benefits established pursuant to Ordinance No. 3007 is the same as exists or as hereafter amended and shall remain in full force and effect. Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, 181755.10 -1- such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi- cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
