ORDINANCE NO. 3400
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF ECC
7.30.030(A) WATER RATES IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH
RATE INCREASES, ECC 7.30.040(A) UTILITY CHARGES -
SANITARY SEWER TO ESTABLISH RATE INCREASES,
7.50.050 RATES AND CHARGES RELATING TO THE
STORMWATER UTILITY TO ESTABLISH RATE
INCREASES, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council finds it to be in the public interest to
increase utility rates in order to provide for the maintenance and operation as well as the
infrastructure needs of the combined utility and to provide an adequate cash reserve, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Edmonds City Code Section 7.30.030 Water rates — meter
installation charges (A) is hereby amended to read as follows:
7.30.030 Water rates — meter installation charges.
A. The bimonthly rates of water supplied through meters shall
be fixed at the following levels:

(A)-is hereby amended to read as follows:
7.30.040 Utility Charges - Sanitary Sewer.
The utility charges for sanitary sewer service set forth in this
section shall be added to and made a part of the bimonthly or
monthly rates for water supplied through the meters as set forth in
ECC 7.30.030:
A. For customers who are served by city waterlines, the
following charges are imposed.

Section 3. The Edmonds City Code Section 7.50.050 Rates and Charges is hereby
amended to read as follows:
7.50.050 Rates and Charges.
The following rates shall be charged on all billings after the
effective date shown with respect to the following classes of
customers and/or service:

D. An ESU is hereby defined to be the impervious surface area
estimated to contribute an amount of run -off which is
approximately equal to that created by the average single - family
residential parcel. A single - family residential parcel is one ESU.
For all other parcels, one ESU is equivalent to 3,000 square feet of
impervious surface area.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
