AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ECC 8.51.040 TO SIMPLIFY
THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR EMPLOYEE PARKING
PERMIT, AMENDING ECC 8.51.030 TO ESTABLISH
ADDITIONAL PARKING AREA FOR EMPLOYEE PARKING
PERMIT, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND FIXING A
TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Code (`BCC ") currently requires both employer
and employee to sign applications for employee parking permits; and
WHEREAS, the Edmonds Employee Permit Parking Program is designed
primarily for distribution by employers to their employees; and
WHEREAS, signatures of the employees on applications are unnecessary to
complete, process and issue employee parking permits; and
WHEREAS, seven (7) additional parking spaces have been identified in the
downtown area for employee parking permit; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
Section 1. Amended. Subsection (D) of ECC 8.51.040 Issuance of employee
parking ep rmits. is hereby amended to read as follows:
8.51.040 Issuance of employee parking permits.
D. Employee parking permit application forms shall be
signed by the owner or lead supervisor identified in
subsection (C)(2) of this section.
Section 2. Amended. Subsection (B)(17) of ECC 8.51.030 Commute exem tp ion
from three -hour parking limits, is hereby amended to read as follows:

17. The 15 parking spaces located in the northwest
corner parking lot for the building located at 200 Dayton
Street. In addition, beginning on January 1, 2010, except
on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the 7 parking stalls
numbered 1 through 7 in the southwest corner parking lot
for the building located at 200 Dayton Street.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction,
such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other
section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power
specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take
effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of
the title.
