The Water Superintendent repotted that the water main on Ninth°Avenue
.was leaking badly and that he thought that it was'a good time to have it
:replased by a cast iron pipe.
On motion the question was referdd to the Water Committee.
On motion the City'Clerk was instruoted to adtbrtlse that the Citywants
a second hand grader and that bids must be in on�Oatober 15th,.
There being no further business on motion the Council Adjourned.

State of Washington for the adoption of the BUDGET for m is nle reven
f@r the City of Edmonds for the year 1941.��
The Mayor asked if there were any person in the audience had any thit" 6 U
to say for or againest the proposed budget. There being none the'Counoil
having givet it due consideration, it was moved by Clausen and seconded
by Callahan pass the Ordinance adopting the BUDGET.
The vote was as follos: Cabndler yes, Hareid yes, Callahan yes,
Clausen yes, Martin yes,"harried by unanimous vote of the Councilmen
Present. Ordinance as adopted.

An Ordinance adopting and levying the general taxes for the the City of
Edmonds, Washington, for the fiscal year commencing January-lst, 1941D on
all property, both real and personal, in the City subject to taxation for
the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the several depart-
ments of said City for the ensuing year as required by law; appropriating
the same to the several funds for said fiscal year, and providing for the
collection thereof.
THEREA0the City Council of the City of Edmonds, State of Washington,
having heard all persons asking to,b.e heard for and against the prelimi-
nary budget, heretofore adopted for the ensuing year, due notice having
been given as required by lava and now this 7th, day of October, 1940, the
final budget having been adopted and the Council having determined, the
amount necessary to be paid on the current asssessment toll as general
taxes for the ensuing year and appropriating the same as in this Ordinance
described therefore:

January lat. 1941, the sum of Ten Thousand Four Hugdred Fourth -seven
($10,447.03) Dollars.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall be certified to the proper County
officials as provided by law, and the taxes herein levied shall be
collected and paid into the City Treasurer of the City of Edmonds, at the
time and in the manner provided by the laws of the State of Washington-
for the collection of taxes for third Class Cities.

The `Council met in regular session with Mayort'Fourtner persidingoThe
roll call showed the following Counei&men presentoHar.eid, Callahan, Clausen,
and'Martin. The monutes of the last regular meeting and the. meeting for the
adoption of the budgit of the expenses for the year 19419 were'read and
approved.
The City�Engineer made the following report on the cost for1repairs
of the damages to the Date property on Tenth Avenue and Dayton Street.
It will takeabout 2000 yds of dirt to make the fill and it will cost 'about
25 cents'a yard to make the fill;. cost'about $500s00o
After due considdration of the mater the Council°desided that it would
expedite maters if the Water Committewould go and have 'a talk with Tyr Dater
and see if it was posibl'e to make 'a settlement by eichang of lots.
The following communioations were'received in'repl to the'adver-
tisement of the City foraseeond hand grader.
