The Mayor called the Council.in special session for the purpose of pur-
chasing supplies for the Rationing Board. The roll call showed the following
Councilmen present: H.A.Chandler, n.T.xoscoe, W.C.Hanson O.Savage, ►.Hansen,

On motion, the.Mayor, City Clerk, were given power to1pureshase what supplies
el and a cabinet for the Rationing Board.
On motion Mr. Little was given power to employ some one to do the jamiter

The Council met in regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The
roll call showed the following Councilmen present: H.A.Chandler, R.T.Roscoe,

approved.
..The City reeieved notice that.there was taxes,against Lots 39 and 40
in Block 67.. This property was sol4c7. to F,.M.Sparling. It was 'supposed that
all the taxes were paid. On motion the City Attorney was instructed to look
after it. °
There seems to.be.no record of the sewer wye in front of Jackson prop-
erty on First Avenue North. On mot.inn-the Council desided to make a sewer
connection if the property owern would pfi.g the ditoh.

SOnmotion the City Clerk was instructed to notify the City Engineer
that he; must .maku up the Assessment Rolls --for First Avenue Notth and Third
Avenue North at once._
Ralph V. Hard requested permission to. a house.on the Trunk Sewer that
runs across his property.- On'moltion the City desided to give him permission
to, hook on -the Trunk Sewer provided he pay $3,_00 inspection fee -and give the
City an easement for the sewer across his property.

The City Engineer presented the final assessment on L.1,D,Bo.50and the total
cost to be §2,110,67.

A deligation from north Edmonds appeared before the Council and requested
the Council to furnish them with City water. On motion the request was refured,
to the Vlater Committe. b°
,On motion the City Clerk was instructed to.'pay the 1935 and 1936 taxes
on lots 39 and 40 in Block 679 amount $ C V
On motion the Mayor was instructed to contact S.J.Perine about gass
masker.
.The, Policle Judge requested the Council to purchase him a new Police Docket.
On motion the Council instructed the Police Judge to purchase the kind of
Docket he wanted.
Mrs. Floyd Woodfield asked what the Council wanted for the platforms
on which the W.P.A. made the concret posts ono On motion the Council desided
to sell the for §5,00 a piece.
On motion the City Clerk was instructed` get a priority rating for 50 ft
of 10 inch steel pipe, a 150 gallon pump and 3000 feet of 4 inch concrete
asbestose pipe.
On motion the Coueil desided to combine the positions of Water Superin-
tendent and Street Superintendent as on and pay $150.900 per month for the
combined position, and that the position should be giventto a younger man.
On motion the Council desided to pay 75 cents per hour for labor.
On motion the Council instructed the Water`Committe to get an expert pump
mancto see that the pumps are kept in proper condition and instruct the Water
Superintendent how to;:.zeep the in proper condition o
