session with Mayor Fourtner presiding.
The roll
call showed fhe following councilmen
present: Chandler, Roscoe; Hansel, Jones,
Savage, Hansen and Clausen.
The water Collectors and 'Treasurers
reports were read and ordered
filled.
The bills for the month of
February were approved by the finance
committee
and a motion was moved and
seconded that warrants be drawn on the
proper funds.
Motion carried.
A Motion was moved and seconded that the Clerk and Treasurer transfer U280.
from the water operating fund to a water consumers Depdsit Fund. Motion Carried.

A Motion was. moved and seconded that -the Mayor and.Chief of Police be instruct-
ed to inforce Or pretaining to licensing tavern and amusement places,
license to be paid from January 1, 1943. Motion carried.
A motion was moved and snded thattthe chief,of police be allowed four
cents a mile for expenseechis car for police duties for the City. Motion
carried with one opposing vote of the Council.
A letter from Mary J. Robertson was read, asking the City for Liability
Insurance to protect her in case of any accidents that might occur at the
Observation Tower located on her property. This matter was referred to
George Hicks.
After a dicission with the fire chief and the City Attorney it was decided
not to consolidate with the Seattle Heights District for fire protection.
Mr. Bentley reported the sewer at the foot of Dayton street had been broken.
Mayor Fourtner stated that the Insurance Company for Pointer Gilliamette
would repair the damage which was done from driving of piles.
There being no further business on motion the meeting adjourned.

The Council met in regular session with Mayor #,'ourtner presiding. The roll
call showed the following Councilmen present, Roscoe, Hansen, Jones, Savage,
Hansen and Clausen.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A report from Dewey Leyda on the completion of the Observation tower showed
a total cost of$48.819 to Crow Hardware, 7.48, Stevens Lumber $30.08,
Engels Insurance Agency $11.25 for Liability Insurance for one year, which
covers anyone who is injured while on the premises.
A motion was moved and seconded that the Council extend a vote of thanks to
Dewey Leyda and the Committee also -to those who donated their time and
material for the consrtuction of the Obervation Tower. Motion carried.
