The Council met in regular session with Mayor ,ourtner presiding. The roll
call showed the following Councilmen present, Chandler, Roscoe, Jones,
Walter Hansen and Clausen.
The Water Collectors and Treasurers reports were read and ordered filled.
The bills for the month of April were approved by the finance Committee
and a motion was moved and seconded that warrants be drawn on the proper
funds. motion carried.

A motion was moved and seconded that the fire chief M. C. Engels purchase_
the necessary hose for the fire truck and smoke masks which are needed.
Motion carried. , .
The Fire chief also reported that the hydrant located inside the Pointe-r-
Williamette grounds was hard to get at in case of fire because of material
being piled around it, No action was taken -on this.
A motion was moved and.seconded the Clerk have published the proposed Ordin-
ance # 546. Motion carried.
A report from:the,State.Hea.lth department showed that the samples taken
from the City water wells conform to standards for purity.
A motion was moved and seconded that the sprinkling rates begin the first
of May and continue through June, July, August and Septmeber, at ten cents-
per hundred Cubic feet, over the 800 minr.,imun alloyed. Motion carried.
The clerk was asked to notify Pointer-Williamette the City would not be',
able to let them have water for driving of piles after May 15,
Water Superintendent I?, H. Doty brought up before the Council the possible
shortage of water this summer::. (He suggested limiting the sprinkling time
however no action was taken on the matter.
The State Insppctors report was read by the assistant clerk and the comments
were discussed by the Councilmen.
There being no fur"there business the meeting adjourned.

A motion was moved by Hansen and seconded by Roscoe that Ordinance # 546
be adopted. A vote of the council showed Chandler yes, Roscoe yes, Hansen
yes, Jones yes, Hansen yes, Clausen no. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO 546
An Ordinance prohibiting minors under Sixteen (16) years of age from
being on -"the streets, avenues, alleys, docks, or other public places,
within the City of Edmonds, during certain ho4rs of the night and pres-
cribing penalties for the violation thereof.
