made by Waggoner and seconded by Siefert that the Mayor appoint a committee
'to investigate this contract. Mayor Fourtner appointed Councilmen McGinness,
Siefert and Chief of Police Holmquist.
A motion watt made by Siefert and seconded by Chandler that we pay ?�30 for the
gun which was stolen. from Mr. flick and $4,23 for the installing of the
siren and flashers on the Chief of police car. motion carried.

'December 17, 1946
The Council met in regular session with mayor Fourtner presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Chandler, McGibbon, Waggoner,
Siefert, DcGinness and Clausen:
A letter was read from Cleve Little tehderif,grh e_-resignation as Chairman
of the Park Board. Mayor Fournter expressed a vote of thank to Cleve for
the faithful s'erVibe.haAfter some discussion with the council a motion was
made by Waggoner and seconded by McGinness that his res=ignation be rejected.
Motion carried. Mayor Fournner appointed Max Meyring on the park board.
Councilman McGinness and Siefert,, the committee which was appointed to
contact the 2u_et Sound Navigation Co., in regards to the lease which expires
Dec. 31, repoNed to the council. After some discussion the attorney was
instructed to draw up a new lease with the rental charge of $400 a year,
the motion being made, by McGibbon and seconded by Clausen.

Ordinance No. 564 for the vad&t.a"°ng of a portion of the alley in Mock 121
was introduced to the council. L motion was made by rcGibbon and seconded
.by Chandler that the Yost auto Co., be notified that they are to stand the
expense of engineer, the cost of removing the bulkhead and the printing
costs for vacating of the alley. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Clausen and seconded by 1,11cGibbon that Claude Savage
be given permission to break down the curb east of his store on Main St.-
for a driveway, at ]his expense. Motion carried.
Alberic Brandt asked for permission to stand a lunch bus on the north side
of Main Street, entrance to the ferry dock. A motion was made by Waggoner
and seconded by Clausen that he be given this permission on a rental basis
of $5 a month. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Chandler and seconded by McGinness that the treasurer
transfer the 40% that the city sponsored for L. I. D. rr57 from the street
fund. Motion carried.
A motion wqs made by Chandler and seconded by McGinness that the treasurer

A motion was made by Waggoner and seconded by Siefert that a. letter be sent
to Pointer-Willia.mttte Co. thanking them for they assistance that has been
extended to the City. Motion carried.
A check was received from D. P. Dennisten for lots 28 and 29 in Block D.
A motion was made by Clausen and seconded by Chandler that the City sell
lots 28 and 29 in Block D for 4fi3000. L. roll call vote showed Chandler yes,
McGibbon yes, Waggoner no, Siefert no, McGinness yes and Clausen yes.
A motion was made by McGinness and seconded by McGibbon that we purchase
two lots east of the IAAasonic Hall on Dayton from Jessye Cogswell for $1000.
A roll call vote showed a u-nakilmous vote of the council.
Mr. Pike reported to the council that the hedge in back of the Methodist
Church had groom out into the alley, making it impossible for cars to get
through. This was referred to the street committee to investigate and report
at the next council meeting.
The Clerk read the comments of the State Examiners re-oort to the Council.
A motion was made by,1deGibbon and seconded by Waggoner that the finance
committee look over this report and make a.report to the council on it.
Motion carried.

The Council met. in. regular. session with. Mayor iPourtner. presiding. The, roll
gall showed the following councilmen, present Chandler, McGibbon, Waggoner,
Siefert., MoGinness and Clausen: The water Collectors and treasurers reports
were read. A -motion was madeby MoGinness and seconded by Waggoner that the
bills which sere approved by the finance committee be allowed and warrants
be drawn on the proper funds.. No ion.oarried.
A letter was read from the Yost Auto Co., in which they.state that they
will pay.for the engineering cost and any other costs for, the vacating of
a portion: of. the alley in Block 121.
A letter was read from Mrs. Paul Xalushe about the tMasnitar,y condition of
the rats at the city dump.. A motion was made by Waggoner that the Street
Supt# begiven authority to check the garbage dump and see that the dump
is covered.

An Ordinance vacating the nest ,one hundred twenty (120). feet of the alley
in Block 121., Plat-of.the City of Edmonds, Snohomish County, Washington.
WHEREAS, the owners of more than two-thirds. of the private property abutt-
ing upon that protimn 'of the alley hereinafter described, in the City of
Edmonds,, duly filed their Petition with the City Council of the City, of
Edmonds, praying for the vacation of said alley; and
WHEREAS,, the City Council of the said City did by Resolution duly adopted
fig the 5th day of November, 1946 at the hour of.eight o'clock P. M. of
said day for the hearing and determination of adid Petition; and
WHE1MM,,.due and legal notice of the time and place of hearing and deter-
mination on said petition has been duly;giiren by the City.Clerk as required
by law; and
gHEREAS, it appearing to .the City Council that the -said ,Petition should be

faithful service. as councilman for the tatty of Edmonds.
Mr. Tucker and Maxwell took their pliaee for councilmen of the first and
third wards. Mayor.Fourtner.appointed Mr. Clausen for.Counoiiman for the
third ward for a two year term. A,motion was made by.Siefert.and seconded
by MoGinness that the Council approve the appointment. Motion carried.
