that'It is up to the City Council to decide what they want to do in regards
to a lease and the dock, but if sometadt ons.ittndtiltaken soon it will be
reverted back to their old order and the. dock will b.e removed. A motion
was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Waggoner that the
Attorney draw up papers to apply for a lease f.or the vacating of the water-
way . Councilman McGibbon made an amendment to this motion that this action
be held up until an agreement has-been received from,2ointer-Williamette.
A roll call vote showed McGibbon yes, Tucker no, Waggoner no, McGinness
no, Siefert no, Clausen yes, and Maxwell no. A•roll call vote on the previous
motion showed McGibbon -no, Tucker yes, Waggoner yes, McGinness no, Siefert,
yes, Clausen no and Maxwell yes. to
A motion was made by Councilman-McGinness that the state be notified that the
City has not reached an agreement and want the dock removed...
A motion was made by councilman McGibbon and seconded 'by councilman Tucker
that we --inform the -state we are interested ikeeping the dock and are negiot-
ating with Pointer-Williamette. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Waggoner
that the salary of the water superint nedent be referred to the water committee
to report at the next council meeting. Motion carried. Councilman Siefert
suggested tads be made retroactive to the first of the month.
Several people came before the council and asked to have daley street opened
for travel from Seventh to Eighth Street. A motion was made by councilman
Waggoner and seconded by councilman McGinness that this be referred to the
street committee for investigation and report at.the next meeting. Motion
carried. Also the matter of furnishing water to these people was
referred to the water committee by a motion made by Councilman McGinness and
seconci.ed by councilman Maxwell. Motion carried.

The Council met for a special meeting with Mayor Pourtner presiding. The
roll call showed all councilmen present.
One bid was received for the drilling of the well, from N.^C. Jannsen Drill-
ing co. for 43535.40. A motion was made by Councilman Clausen and seconded
by councilman Tucker that the basic bid, with the improved screen at a cost
of $10 per foot, also item #6 for the development of well to be charged
at the rate of $10 per hour, be accepted. Passed by a unaminous vote of
the Council.
There being no further busineas the meeting adjourned.

The Council met in regular session with Mayor F'ourtner.presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present McGibbon, Tucker, Siefert,
MoGinness, Clausen and Maxwell.
The Treasurers report was read. A motion.was made by Councilman Siefert
and seconded by councilman McGibbon that the bills which were approved by
the finance committee be allowed ar,d warrants drawn on the proper funds.
Motion carried.
This was the date set for the hearing on L. I. D. No. 60, for the Maple
street sewer. A written protest from Yost Auto Co., was read. Mr. Hunter
Stated it was his opinion that lot 40 in Block 121 and Lot 1 in Block 122
be canceled from the roll. The Attorney recommended the Councib approved
the assessment roll -and the.t he would draw up an Ordinance confirming the
roll, and the hearing be continued until the next meeting.
A motion'was made,by councilman Clausen.and seconded by councilman McGibbon
that the water committee recommended that the suet. Salary be $250 a month
retrotractive from March first.. Motion carried.
A report was made on the development of the new well. It was stated they
were -getting 50 gallon per minute, that about �1330 was spent at the present
time ~and ._it;, would cost 01500 to complete it. The -question came up if this
well should be completed or to dig another well. A motion was made by.
Councilman McGibbon and seconded 'by Councilman Tucker that the Engineer be
instructed to go ahead and finish this well and call,for bids on another
l weli .probably, at the Yost springs with an alternate b.id for a guarantee
well. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by Councilman Siefert
that the street Supt., Salary be set for �250 a month retrotractive from
March first. Motion carried.
Two bids 'were received for a road Maintainer. One from :A. H. Cox 8c
for $3181, on terms for �3387, plus sales tax. Bid no. 2 from Feenaughty
Machinery Co., for $3750 plus sales tax. A motion was made by councilman
McGinness and sec,onded.by councilman Siefert that the bid from Feenaughty
Machinery Co, be accepted. Passed by a unaimnous vote of the council.
George Bacon asked for permission to use the Pointer Williamette Dock, for
a landing place for the ferry which he was operating between Edmonds and
Kingston. He stated he would be willing to repair the dock, also to let
Pointer Williamette have use of it. A•motion was made by Councilman
McGinness and seconded by,councilman Siefert.that the attorney take steps
to acquire the,doek, also to arrange a meeting with the State representa-
tive, Pointer-Williambtte and Mr. Bacon and work out some lease agreeltent,.
Motion carried.

Mr. Johnson who resided at tenth and Maple for more water in that vicinity
so.they may have better fire protection. Kis was referred to the water
committee for investigation by Councilman McGinness.
Mrs. Morrissey, a representative from the Floretum Club, asked for. permission
to put flower containers on the streets, so that flowers made be placed in
them. A motion was made by councilman McGinness that the council was in
favor of this idea but would like a more definite plan, with a second to
the motion by councilman Maxwell. Motion a,ar}ried.
A motion was made by councilman McGibbon and seeond.ed by councilman Tucker
that more space, -be allowed the police department for parking of cars.
Motion carried.
Two letters were read to the council from the state Health department in
regards to samples of water which weretttken from the proposed bathing beach
area.

The Council met in regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The roll
call showed all councilmen present. The bill.of George.Tebple for labor on
the water in the amount of $96.80, was approved by the finance committee,
and ordered paid by a motion from Councilman Siefert and seconded by council-
man Clausen. Motion carried.
A letter was read from Ira S. Harding, contradtor for the new water tank,
that he guarantees workmanship and materials used -in building a wate:r.,tank.
A petition was read to the council formthe grading.of Daley street from sev-
eith avenue to the city limits. This petition not being a legal petition
the Attorney drew up one for the signatures of the, property owners to sign.
Mr. Berg asked for a water line along his property at ninth avenue north.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman.Siefert
that this be referred to the water committee for investigation. Motion carried
Attorney Hunter adiveed the councilthat Lot 40and 8/15 of lot 37 in block
