at the next meeting.
Mayor McGibbon reported that property owners on Terrace Road wanted water from Edmonds.
A motion was made by councilman Tt2cGinness and seconded.by councilman Tucker that this be r e
referred to the water committee for consideration. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson that the
Church of God be requested to construct a bulk -head in the alley North of 'alnut Street
at their earliest possible date. Motion.carried.
The Council proceeded to make out the Preliminary budget for,1951. A motion was made by council-
man Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that a 10% icn�rease in salaries be put in
the preliminary Budget. Motion carried.
After some time being spent on the budget a motion was made bycouncilman Maxwell and
seconded by councilman Vollan to adjourn this meeting until Sept. 6, at 8,01clock.
Sept. 6, 1950
The Council met for the for the completing of the budget with the Mayor and Councilman
Vollan, Tucker, Engels, Maxwell, Tuson and Peterson present.

(� ## 606 be passed and published. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that no parking
be inforced on Sunset Blvd. from Main to Bell street, Sept. 17 from midnight until Z P., M.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Engels that the Electric
Service at the new well in North Edmonds be'discontinued. Motion carried.
The Council proceeded to complete the preliminary -budget.
There being no further busines the meeting adjourned.

September 19, 1950.
The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call
showed the following councilmen present Vollan, Tucker, Tuson, McGinness, Engels
and Maxwell.
The Treasurers report was read.
Three bids werereceived for the laying of a sewer, one from E. D. Ranson with a total bid
of $3,429.00, one from L. 0. Franklin for $3,695 and one from Superior Construction Co.,
for $3080. A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman-Tuson
that.the Superior Construction Co., be given the bid, sales tax is not included in bid.
Motion carried.
Fred Fourtner came before the Council and asked to have a water main laid on Hapletstreet
from Seventh to Eighth Avenue. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by
Councilman McGinness that a main be laid with a hydrant. Motion carried.

would continue to use Edmonds water as they have been doing in the past.
Councilman McGinness reported a fir tree at Third and Howell way should be taken down..
He also reported that the County had completed the surfacing of Howell way,, also that
it had been decided to widen the street another six feet.
Councilman Maxwell chairman of the Safety committee reported that passenger loading at
the Edmonds Hotel was held over for more study, also that the streed end which is used
for parking could be blocked off. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded
by councilman Vollan thff� parking be prohibited/on the dead-end street at First Avenue
south of Main street anc�parking signs be installed. Motion carried.
The Clerk was asked to again write the Church of God in regards to them installing
a bluk-head in the alley North of 17alnut street stating the dangerous condition that
exists in the alley.
Attorney Holte reported he had no reply from Mr. Janns,en in regards tothe"return of
the money, also that the City Code had been completed., Mayor McGibbon appointed
councilman Tuson, Vollan and 'himself on the committee to read over the code.
The committee which was appointed to report on the Pension fund for City employees
recommended that the city aaccept it if 3/4 of the City employees anticipated. A
motion was made by councilman McGinness that his matte:rnsi
