S. G. Robertson presented a claim for damages against the Superior construction
Co. in the amount of p102, for damage to his larm and rockery, .when putting in the
sewer in the alley south of llari3? street. Attorney Holte stated he would contact
the contractor in this matter. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded
by councilman Maxwell that this be entered on the minutes. -Motion carried.
;t Councilman McGinness reported that Mr. Kofler who lives at Seventh & Pine street has
purchased pipe for a vu.lvert and wants the city to install same.
Councilman Maxwell reported that street signs.in the city should be replaced and new
ones added. The Clerk was asked to contact the State Highway Department in regards
to the signs on the State Highway through the city and for the repalcement to the
Stop sign at Fifth & Main, a blinker sign at Third and Main and a fire control sign
at Fifth & Dayton Street.
Councilman Tucker freported that the taxi who has a reserved space in front of Engels
Tavern has been occupying a space across the street. Mayor McGibbon stated that he
would get in touch with the Policeman in regards to this.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman McGinness that we
accept the offer from the General Insurance Co. for the blanket insurance policy
effective in 1951, and the Clerk notify E. B. Hubbard of this, and the insurance on
the Fire truck to be started inunediately. Motion_carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness that the
Attorney Holte bring suit against Jannsen Drilling Co., for the $5000 plus liquidated
damages. Motion carried.

November 7, 1950
The Councilmet for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Vollan, Tucker, Tuson, Engels,
Maxwell and Peterson.
The Water Collectors report was read. A letter was read to the council from the
State Highway Department in regards to the stop signs and lights asked to be
installed on the State Highway through the City of Edmonds.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on
the proper funds. Motion carried.
Councilman Tucker reported that several members of the water committee and the Mayor
has spent some time going over the property purchased from the Yost Estate.
Supt. Lawson reported the Sprague street job was nearly completed.
Councilman Maxwell reported a change in the hours for the policemen.
The purchase of chairs for the City Hall was discussed, but no action was taken.
Therebeing no further business the meeting 'adjourned.

November 21, 1950
The Council met for its regular,meeting with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call
showed all councilmen present.
The Treasurers report was read.
The letter received from George Hanson in which he asks about building restrictions
for Mr. Hall was referred to the Attorney for answering.
The letter which was received from the Attorney for Mr. Wheeler, in which he claims
'';damage done.to his business, has been answered by Attorney Holte.
A number of people came before the Council and asked that Brower Road be renamed
Hemlock Street. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman
Tuson that the street south of Cedar street be named Hemlock street and a resolution
be drawn for the renaming of said street. Motion -carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that a request
for installing new street lights be publsihed in the palbei Motion carried.
