The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Vollan, Tucker; Tuson, McGinness,
Engels, Maxwell and Peterson. .
The water collectors report was:read.'.The requests which were received for Street
lights were turned over to the chairman of the Safety Committee.
A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Tucker that the bill
for $370 for Engineering of the Yosts'.40 acres be allowed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the bills
which were approved by the Auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the
proper.funds. Motion carried.
P1layor Iv4cGibbon reported he had received a letter from the County Engineer in regards to
the naming and numbering of. the streets in the 114apleivood Precinct.' A motion was made
by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Peterson that the Clerk write the
County Engineer stating that the Council recommends the naming and number of said streets
and we offer any serviceand co-operation we can. Motion carried.
Mr. Larson came beforenthe with a complaint of water running into his basement from the
street. Ike was assured this matter would-be taken tare of immediately.
Mr. Bu.cklin came before the council and asked for a water main on C street, so that he
could have water in his new home. Councilman Tucker suggested this be turned over to
the water committee for investigation.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that Third and
Fourth Avenues between Dayton- and Walnut streets be re -numbered. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the name
of Sprueeestreet be given to the street whi-ch is now named Brower Road. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and -seconded by councilman Engels that -we call for
bids for the drilling -of test.holes in. the newly purchased:,property bids to be opened
December 19, at 8 01colock P. MI. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Peterson that money be
used from the City Hall fund to repair the chairs in the City Hall. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman Tucker that the
Street Department be authorized to burn -the brush�on the City property in the alley
between.Maple and Alder Streets. Motion carried.

The Treasurers report was read. A.jetter was read. from the County -,Auditor in regards to
our city election. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman
Engels that lwe adopt the resolution!lto.hold the city primary,and General Election at the
City Hall -arid the voting machines be, used ;and, arrangements be , made with the,.County
Auditor. Motion carried.
Five bids werereceiyed for the dri.11int,of test holes and surging of.,.the wells, from
N:...C. Jannsen, a`y��..Miller.,.H. ,0-..•,Meyer,.. Shilling •& Shilling, and.L. R. Goudio. After
some` conversation witli! the -,bidders -a motion was made by councilman Tucker thdt a special
meeting be called,Thursday for consideration of .the bids.
A'motion was made bycouncilman Maxwell'and'seconded by councilman McGinness that an•,order
be placed with P. U. D. to install 44 residential type lights and 18 commercial type.

A motion was -.made•by. councilman-Tuson and seconded-bycouncil"man Vollan that'a'five minute
parking be established in frontof the new post office building from the west line of the
post office to 60 feet east with signs and curb marking, effective January first.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
loading zone in front of the pest office building.on Fifth avenue be abolished the first
of the year. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Engels that a
temporary use permit be issued to Mr. Hall with restrictionthat he and his wife
live in the building, the garage.;while he is bui;ding his home, and the building
to revert back to a garage which cannot be rented. .Building construction of the
new building to be started t ithin six month with a permit for one year. An
ambndmentrtoethe motion was made by. councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman
Maxwell that a permit be,,given for six month during construction of his new home.
A vote on the amendment lost. A vote on the motion showed it carried.
Mayor McGibbon suggested that bizi)lding permits be published in the local paper
weekly with a total once a month, this was made a motion by'councilman Vollan and
seconded by councilman Tucker.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that
120 feet of four inch pipe be installed on C street. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by Councilman Engels that
the license for male and spade female.dogs be $'1 and for female $2. Motion carried
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the Code
be adopted as corrected. Motion carried.

The meeting adjourned until Thursday NILght.
December 21, 1950
The Council met for the adjourned meeting with Ilayor.McGibbon presiding, with council
men Vollan Tucker, Tuson, Engbls,anddIakrell present.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that Gaudio
be awarded the bidfor the entire job and Miller the alternate in case of failure to
sign the contract. Motion was withdrawn.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Engels that Mr. Miller
be awarded the bid and Gaudio be given the alternate bid. Motion carried.

seconded by councilman Tusanrthat the bills which were approved by the auditing committee
be allowed and warrants -:be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman. Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that the Street
Department paint out all yellow curbs that acre not in use. Motion carried.
A motion.was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that a request
for a street light on Walnut street between 9th & 10the Avenue be installed and the P. U. D
be notified about same. rdiotion carried. - °

of houses be referred to the Street committees ir'ibhiauthorztydto act. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Peterson that the Safety
Committee again contact the State Highway Department in regards to the traffic signs. Motion
carried.
