which have been moved in.at Tenth and Alder street, which are to be remodled. A
motion was made by councilman Vallan and seconded by councilman Tuson that this be
referred to the Superintendent and Building Code committee for checking of the
building permits and to see if everything is legal. Motion carried.

A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that
Mr. Fourtner be given permission to fence off'part of the sidewalk of Fifth Avenue
in front of Dependable Cleaners so that he may do some remodeling work on the building.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that Salary.
Ordinance # 618 be adopted and published. Motion carried.
Ordinance #619 for grading and graveling was read for the first time.
Ordinance # 620 for a•sewer was read the first time.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Engels that the
question of Mr. Abelson not being able to connect his property to the sewer on
Maple street be referred to the Attorney. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
code amendment to adopted. Motion carried.'
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Engels that the
sprinkling rate be set at 150 over the minni.mun charge effective May 15, unless the
user should geeovver the amuunt for the low rate, then the low rate will be charged.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
40 rate be raised to 8¢, and the attorney draw up the ordinance. Motion carried.
Mayor McGibbon reported he had received a resignation from A. Be Miller councilman
from Third Ward. A motion was madd by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman
Tucker that we accept his resignation. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that we accept
the resignation of Councilman Holmquist as Councilman at Large. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that Vic
. Holmquist be elected by the council to serve as councilman for the Third Ward until
the next city election. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Holmquist and seconded by councilman Maxwell that
Sproule McGinness be elected by the council to serve as Councilman At Large until
the next City Election.. Motion carried.

June 17, 1952
The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Tucker Tuson, Vollan, Engels and
Maxwell. Sproule McGinness was sworn in by Attorney, for Councilman at Large
until the nest City Election.
A motion was made by Councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be
drawn on the proper Hands. Motion carried.
Bob Kreeger came before the council and asked for emission to build his house
approx. 72 feet from dayton, which will conform a home just west of his.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness that
this be referred to the Building.committee. The motion and second was withdrawn.
A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Tucker that he
be allowed to build as near to Dayton street as King Bailey's house. Motion carried.
Don Brown came before the councilan stated that his building had been completed and
asked.for a use permit. He wqs given blanks to fille to dut to comply with the code.
A protest against the sewer for Hummingbird Hill was read to the Council. Mr.
Beaudreau was advised that property which was not benefitted by the sewer would not
be assessed for it.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that Ord. #619
setting up L. I. D. #66, for the graveling Eithth Avenue from Spruce to Pine street
be adopted and published. Motion carried,-
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
amendment to the city code for changing the water rate of all over 10,000 cubit feet
from 40 to 80. per hundred cubic feet. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman MaGimbdisand seconded by councilman Maxwell
that Ordinance # 620 for a sewer along Daley and Sprague streets, setting up
L.I. D. #67 be adopted and published. Motion carried.
Ordinance'No. 621 was read for the first time.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman Tuson, that the
Attorney draw up and, Ordinance for street improvement on Alder street between
sixth and Seventh avenues and the City will pay $500 toward the cost of the street
work. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker that the
Attorney draw up an ordinance for the improvement of Hebe Way and the City is to pay
$350 toward the cost of the blacktop work. Motion carried.
Councilman Vollan reported the two houses on tenth and Alder street had been inspected
and found permits had been taken out, all to conform with the building code.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Engels to adopt the
following formula for persons outside.the city wanting water. Motion carried.

The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Holmquist, Tucker, Tuson, Maxwell and
McGinness.
The water collectors report was read to the Council. A motion was made by councilman
Holmquist and seconded by councilman Tuson that the bills which were approved by the
Auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried.
A letter was read from the Frank Friese Post in which they ask for permission to use
the street for their Fourth of July celebration. A motion wads made by councilman
Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that this permission be granted providing
it meets with the requirements of the fire code and a permit granted by the Fire Chief.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness that a
four inch water main be installed on Bell street from Olympic Avenue west, up to
360 feet, after the street grade has.been established.' The City is to pay for the
installing of pipe and the street grade, and the property owners to pay.for the
grading of said street., Motion carried.
Helen Reynolds came before the council with a petition for the rezoning of the
home at 623 Main street for'doportrait stAdio. A motion was made by councilman
Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that a hearing be set for this rezoning
for July 15. Motion carried.
No bids were received for the graveling of Eighth Avenue.
A letter was read from Mr. Bouncy and'Mr. Gerdon came before the council with a
protest against the sewer that is to go passed their property. Both parties were
assured that if their property had once paid for a sewer or will not be benefitted
by the sewer they will not be assessed again for this sewer, or if they paid the $100
to connect to a sewer that property will be creditid for that amount.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that we
accept the offer from Forrect Kochran Wraacpp6ce of property between 7th & 8th
on Daley street for a street, at a cost of $300. Motion carried.
After the second reqding of Ordinance ##621 a motion was made by councilman Maxwell
and seconded by councilman Tuson that it be passed and published. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker tfor-first reading
Ordinance##622 for the improvement of Alder street from 6th to 7th avenues. Motion carried.

A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell 4-ar first reading
Ordinance ## 623 for the improvement of Hebe way from Fifth to Sixth Avenues. Motion
carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman MaGinness that the
street grade be established on Bell streetAron Olympic avenue to Tenth avenue.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded.by councilman Tuson that the
mayor be empowered to set the dates for vacations for City employees. Motion carried.
