Three bids
were received for L. I.
D. #70 for the improvement of Hebe Way from
fifth to sixth avenue, United Paving co., $4,095.90, Diesel Oil Sales, $4474.32,
Earl Joplin for $3432.30.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker to accept
the bids from Earl Joplin for L. I. D. 69 & 70. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded°by councilman Holmquist that the
cost for installing the water line to the City beach be charged to the park department
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded byeouncilman Maxwell to withdraw the
motion for the Attorney to draw up an ordinance setting up the reserve funds for the City.
Motion carried.
A motion wasnmade by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the
council adjourn until Thursday night. Motion carried.
The Council met for the adjourned Thursday night with Mayor McGibbon presiding
with councilmen Tucker, Tuson, Maxwell and McGinness present.
After receiving an opinion from Attorney Holte a motion was made by councilman
Maxwell and seconded by councilman McGinness to accept the bid from Earl Joplin
and the contract be drawn up and signed. Motion carried.
There being no further bus' ess the meeting adjourned.
City Clerk Mayor
August 19, 1952
The Council met for its regular session with Mayor'McGibbon presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Tucker, Tuson, Vollan, Maxwell
McGinness and Hohmquis t.
The Treasurers report was read to the council, and minutes were read.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that
Ordinance No. 624 be passes and published. Motion carried.
Supt,La�� on reported he would like to have water and sewer connections that are
3'ought to the property lines on Alder and Wahnut street east of ninth Avenue
before the paving is done. This was referred to the committee.
Mayor McGibbon called to the attention of the Supt. the hazard of the resouvoir on
Ninth and Main street. Also any dirt any excess dirt on street improvements be
put in'the alley at ninth and Maple street.
Councilman Tucker reported after the committee meeting that the water department could
not afford to pay for the replacement of the Lindsay line, and would have to consult
Attorney Holte if it could be done under a Local Improvement District. They intended
to use the Lindsey line for irregation purposes.
The Ryland contract was signed Augast 19.

The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Tucker, %-ison,-McGinness, Maxwell
and Holmquist.
A motion tivas made'by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
bills which vrere approved by the auditing committee be allowed and wqrrants be
drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the
two bills for work on L. I..D..68 and 70 be paid as per contract for work done to date,
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker that
service be set up for filing of maps for the streetf water and sewer departments.
Motion carried.
