1954-02-23 Council MinutesThis was tae naught for the hearing on the annexation for tract #16 of the
Puget Sound Machinery Depot 5 acre Tract,, a'motion was made by councilman
Bishop and seconded by councilman Talen that we annex.this'tract of land to
the City of Edmonds, and that Ord. #650'be passed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell'.and seconded by councilman Kincaid
that we accept the plat of Riley Park addition to'Edmonds with the express
understanding that the south 72 feet and.the North 72 feet'tie dedicated to
the City. `Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Tuson
that Attorney Holto draw up an� easment from Mr. Olson.dedicating 72 feet
on the North side of his property for utility purposes. Motion carried.
Mayor McGibbon 'made his appointments for persons to serve on the planning
commission as follows: two councilmen Warren Bishop and Donald Tuson,
Attorney Al-Holte and Herman Sater for a one year term, Rev. Proudfoot and.
E. E. Hopper•a two year term, Paul. Maphis and Laurence Hubbard, for a three
year term, Mrs. Edna Kretzler`and Mrs. Roy Corensen for a four year term,
Mrs. Dorothy Williamson.and Vd. W. Womer,Jr. for a five year term; Warren Bishop
was made temporary chairman. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and
seconded by councilman Kincaid that these appointments be confirmed. Motion
carried.
A motion was made by oouncilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that
Mr. Black's street assessment for L. I. D. #72, tax lot 108 be reduced $22.38,
which was -an error made by the engineer. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded -by councilman Kincaid' that
the assessment of Bob Krieger for his driveway be reduced $16.29. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that
the Port Commission have the use of the City Hall for a hearing February 24.
Motion carried. �
The water committee recommended the reduction of the water bills to the
minnimun charge as per request of A. B. Miller and W. C. Bell.
This meeting recessed until Tuesday night<February*23.
February 23, 1954
The Council met for its recessed meeting with Mayor McGibbon presiding with
the following councilmen present, Tuson. Talen, Maxwell, Bishop and McGinness.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell
\/ that resolution No. 120 for the i.nstgllation of a sewer in south Edmonds, be passed.
1` Publication of the resolution is set for March 11 and 18., with the date for the
hearing -April 20. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Maxwell for the
waterdepartment to proceed with the renovating of the concrete resouvoir at ninth
and Main street as outlined by the water committee, at a cost of $6000 including
a fence.. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman McG.ihness that
the water operating fund loan the street dund $4000 for 90 days as of March 1.
Motion carried.
Answering the letter from Mr. Culver, a motion was made by councilman McGinness.
and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the two property owners west of Mr..Culver's
property be informed, because of a complaint the Council, is requesting the removal
of any obstruction on the street right-of-way, however they may have a lawn on this
property. Motion carried.

application from Rudy's Market and Gracery to se l�beer, be approved. Motion carried.
A letter was received from Emmett Scholl asking for a stop sign on -both side of
seventh avenue At Maple St. This was referred to the safety committee.
