A petition for the imp�ro,vemae�,�t of the alley between fifth and smith avenues and between
Main and Bell streets as PV9ion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by
councilman Tuson that Attorney Holte set up the L. I. D. Motion carried.
A motion was made bar councilman McGinness'and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
informal hearing for the L. I. D. be set for April 20. Motion carried.
A motion.was made by councilman Bishop and seconded by councilman Maxwell that
the amendment to chapter 6 of the city code for the repair of sidewalk, curb
and gutter be passed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Kincaid that
Mr.'Grizzel be allowed an additional two weeks to April 22 for the laying of
the water line. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Talenthat
a catch basin and pipe be installed to correct the erosion of the eqrth as outlined
by the engineer at tenth and Maple.street. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Talen that the
Attorney draw up an ordinance to allow 60 days-time•to•connect to the sewer after
the installation of the sewer. Motion carried.
A motion was made by oouncilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson that
the Richfield Service Station be instructed to install a catch basin at the North-
west corner of their property. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
street department drill the holes on Main and dayton streets as requested by the
School District. Motion carried.

The council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. 'The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Talep, Kincaid, Maxwell, Bishop and
McGinness.
Two protests were received against the improvement of the alley in -Block D.
This -was also the night set for the hearing on the proposed sewer for South
Edmonds. The City Hall was filled with people asking about the sewer, the
Engineer and Mayor McGibbon answered a number of question adked by the people.
Because of the number of protests received the ineetihe.recessed until Thursday
Nibht, for the checking of the names.
The Council met for its recessed meeting with Mayor McGibbon presiding.
Attorney Holte reported that upon checking the names on the protests there was
36.6 % against the sewer.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by oouncilman•Talen that
Ordinance # 653 setting up L. I. D. #74 for the sanitary sewer for South Edmonds
be passed and published. A roll call vote showed Talen yes,.Kincaid yes, Maxwell
yes,.Bishop yes and McGinness yes.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that
we call for bids on the warrants and bonds for L. I. D. #74, bids to be opened
May 41 Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded,by councilman Kincaid
that the attorney be authorized to obtain any --easements necessary after receiving
the information needed from the Engineer, for I. I. D. #74. Motion carried.
