Ddr. Main, who resided on Maple street, east of tenth avenue asks that the grade be
established. A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman
Bishop that the Engineer -establish the grade on Maple street from tenth avenue east
.to the end of the street. Motion carried.
The vacation of Hemlock street betmeen 8 and 9 avenue was set f or a hearing on October 4
by a motion made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Bishop. Motion
carried.
Councilman Kincaid reported that the P. U. D. has donated oil to oil the streets in
the City park.
A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Bishop that the
bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be
drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Kincaid ands econded by councilman Bishop that the
bills for remodeling the library building be paid from other funds, as decided by
the Treasurer. Motion carried.
The Petition for annexation of B16cks 3 and 4 South Park Addition to Edmonds, was
set for a hearing on Sept. 20, on conditione-that Attorney Holte ascertain if 75%
of the property has signed the petition,Ahis was made a motion by councilman Kincaid
with a second from councilman Sommerseth. Motion carried.
The annexation of a portion of No rth�Edmonds by petition was set for a hearing on
Sept. 20, by a motion made by Councilman Tuson v ith a second from Councilman Bishop.
Motion carried.
This meeting was recessed until Friday night Sept. 9, for the making up the Prelim-
inary budget for 1956.

The Council met for its recessed meeting tirith Mayor Mam ell presiding.
This was the date set for the opening of bids for $8000 General Obligation
Bonds.
No bids were received.
A motion was made by councilman

as no bids were received, that the
City purchase the $8000
General Obligation bonds as set forth by Ordinance #664,
with vrith interest of 3
bonds to be purchased

from t'ie L. I. D. Guarantee Fund and Fire Reserve Fund.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tuson and second ed by Councilman Talen that we.
'offer Air. Van Sullivan $7000 for his property for our -sewer disposal plant. Lotion
Carried.
The Treasurers report for the month of August was read to the Council.
A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Sommerseth
on the proposed improvement for Daley street, that the city pay the cost of
item"3 and 4 not to exceed $300,-and we furnish the grader for grading as necessary.
Motion carried.
The Council proceeded to making up the preliminary budget for 1956. Upon completion
of the preliminary budget, the Council ordered it be placed on file at the City Clerk's
office.

The Council met for its regtil.ar session with Mayor Maxwell presiding. 'Ire roll call
sh(wred the following councilmen present,' Tuson,, Talen, Kincaid, Cloud, Bishop and
Sommerseth.
'This was the night set for the hearing on three annexations to the City o£.Edmondsi
No 1, all of Block 3 and 4. and lot 1 in Block 2�, in the South Park Addition to
Edmonds, there being no one objecting to the annexation_ a motion was made by Council-
man Tuson and seconded by Councilman Bishop that Ord. No. 666, annexating said property
to the City of Edmonds, be passed. Aiotion carried.
No. 2, for annexating the property N6rtheofrt4erCtty, chaniging the City limits from
Seventh avenue Hasth to Ninth avenue, thennorth to 196th, then to the north line of
Mr. Robins property. Because of no-abjbctioris to the annexation a motion was made
by"Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that Ordinance No.667 be
passed. Motion carried.
