by Councilman Bishop and discussion.a motion was made by Councilman Bishop and
seconded.by.councilman Tuson that the zoning code amendment to chapter 9, article 1
section 9 1.07 be passed. A roll Ball vote showed Tuson yes, Talen no, Kincaid
yes, Cloud no, Bishop yes, and Steed yes. ,
A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that. the
P. U. L. be instructed to proceed with the lights in the new annexed area, known as
the Thomas Addition. Motion carried. .

A motion was made by councilman. Talen.and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that
the appointment be confirmed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Cloud that the
bill of Thorburn & Logozo for $11, 486.18, for payment. of installing water -and sewer
lines in,the Thomas Plat, and the bill to Jerry Hall for $70, be paid. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that the bid
from Harry Squires to install 843 feet of six inch cast Iron pipe on Olympic Avenue
north.of Glen street and one fire hgdrant, at a cost of 657.25 plus sales tax.
Motion carried. ,
A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that Attorney
Holte prepare and Emergency Ordinance for the printing 1000 copies each of the Zoning
and subdivision ordinance, 250 copies to be bound and the balance placed in storage,
the oest not to exceed $900.00, Motion carried.
The hearing date for the Cedar streetsewer was set up from July 17 to August 7, by
a motion made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Talen. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman Kincaid for a stop
sign to be placed at the intersection of Fourth and Dayton Street. Motion carried.

The Council met for its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding. The roll
call showed the following councilmen present Talen, Kincaid, Bishop and -Steed.
The Water Collectors report was read to the Council.
A motion was made by Counciliban Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Steed that the
.bills as approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on iUthe
proper funds. Motion carried.
Three bids were received for installing water main on Third avenue and on View Drive,
and installing of two hydrants. The bid from Harry Squires in the amount of $1434050,
Thorburn & Logozo for $>994.10, and from Frank Coluccio for $1127.60. A motion was
made by Councilydan Talen and seconded by Councilman Bishop that we accept the bid
from Thorburn & Logozo, the lowest bidder. motion carried.
This was the night set for a hearing for street improvements on Seventh Avenue from
Bell to Casper Street, Casper street from Third to sunset avenue, Sprague street
from Ol*Wic avenue to ninth avenue, Daley street from Olympic avenue to a point
180 feet, om Eighth Avenue, tenth avenue from Sprague street to the alley north of
Daley s eet. 'lliere being an objection to the cost on Tenth avenue, a request by
made to leave out the curb and gutter, A motion was made by councilman Kincaid
that Ordinance No. 678 be enacted with an amendement for tenth avenue. No second.
Councilman Kincaid withdrew his motion. Amotion was made by Councilman Kincaid and
seconded by councilman Talen that Ordinance No. 678 be adopted. A roll call vote showed
Talen yes, Kincaid yes, Bishop no and Steed yes.
This was also the night for a hearing on the irmprovement of the alley from Main to
Bell street between Sunset and Second avenue. Therebeing no objections to the
improvement a motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman
Talen that.Ordinance No. 679 be passed. Motion carried.

hearing on Emergency Ordinance #680 be set for July 17. Lotion carried.
A motion was�made by councilman Talen and seconded by councilman Bishop that Res-
olution of Intention No. 126, for the installation of a sewer on Cedar Street be
passed. Alotion carried.
A bid of $406.10 for painting the City Hall was turned over to the Mayor.
A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Talen that
Attorney Holte obtain Title report4 on Tenth Avenue North extended. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that a
transmitter and receiver unit for the fire truck be, purchased, 50% of the cost to be
borne by the Snohomish County Civil Defense. Motion carried.

Three bids were received for the warrants and bonds on L. I. D. #77. One from
G ande & Co., wit& an interest rate of 44% fer the warrants and Bonds, and they
will pay $100.12 of the par value for the bonds, plus accrued interest, Pacific
Northwest.Co., interest rate of 4 5/8%. and agree to pay $100 per•$100 par value for;
for the warrants and 1100.28 per $100 par value for all bonds issued; the bid from
Terry Thompson is for 42% interest on warrants and bonds, he will pay $100,00 for
.each $100 for the warrants and $100.09 per each. $100 on the bonds:
A notion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that we accept
the bid from Grande & Co., for 4;;/e- interest on the warrants and Bonds. Motion carried.
This was the night set for the hearing on Emergency Ordinance # 680. A motion was
made by councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that Em. Ordinance # 680,
for the printing of.the Zoning Code and the Subdivision Code, for $1000, be passed.
Motion carried.
This was also..the night set for a hearing for annexating that portion of lots 9 & 10
Block five, Alderwood Manor No. 9 lying contiguous to the City of Edmonds. A -motion was
made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that Ord. #681 annexation
section to the city Motion carried. _
Mr. Blair came before the council in regards to a parking problem in front of his
property on Fifth Avenue. He stated he was willing to have the curb and gutter and
a driveway put in, which will take care of this condition.
Engineer Reid reported to the Council on the developing the street west of the Railroad
tracts from Main to Dayton street. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded
by councilman Steed that *tuner �]te write the Great Northern Railroad that we intend
to .acquire 30 feet or more,, I aSIroad property for a street. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and.seeconded by Councilman Bishop that Engineer
Reid prepare preliminary plans and cost estimate for a street on Railroad Avenue between
Main. & Dayton street. motion carried.
Engineer Reid stated plans would be ready for opening of bids for the Sewer Disposal
Plant Sept. 4.
A release of CWm for Damages was received and filed from G. Mason Hall. A motion
was made by Councilman Kincaid and secondedby Councilman Tuson that Mr. Nels Lindh be
employed to repair the porch, sidewalk and sewer, not to exceed w300. Motion carried.
A motion was made by counci Tuson and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that the bid
from Harry Squires for'$1100 plus negiotated cost of street crossing,
by water back fillingpLinstalling two hydrants. The City is to pay the extra cost
between the four inch and six inch"pipe, the c ost.of hauling the pipe to be added to the

cost of pipe. Motion carried.
A letter was read to the council from the Open Bible Church asking for permission to
extend their building one foot over the sidewalk. A motionvas made by councilman Tuson
