The Council net for .its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding. The
roll call showed the follewing Councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Kincaid, Cloud,
Bishop and Steed.
The Water Collectors and Treasurers reports were read to the Council and filled.
A motion was made by Councilman Bishop and'seconded by Councilman Kincaid that
interest warrant #2 on L. I. D. #77 be issued to Grande & Co., for.$7634.31,
a total of,the followin bills, Wash. Asphalt Co., 36306.36, Holte & Hall, �$500,
and JamesH 4. Reid, `�$827.95. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Steed that the
bills as approved by the Auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on
the prepdr funds. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Talen a ndseconded by Councilman Kincaid that we
adopt the preliminary budget as made up by the Council.
_A letter was read to the Council, with an attached plat from the Great Northern
railroad, in which they ask for an easement for a location of an anchor and guy wire,
located 214feet west of their property and two feet south of the guard rail on Main st.
This was referred to the Street Chairman.
Dave Crow and a number of people living on Eighth Avenue North°came before the
° council voicing their objections to the Ordinance passed by the Council, for a plan
for a future street on Eighth Avenue IJorth, They feel it would ruin building sites
in that area. A motion'vias made by Councilman Bishop and seconded by Councilman
Tlison that that portion of the street plan from Casper street'north along Eighth
avenue extended be referred back to the Planning Commission for further consideration.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tus on and seconded by Councilman Talen that the
Waterdepartment spend up to �$4000 for a storn sewer on Fourth avenue'at Pine street.
potion carried. "
A motion -was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that we
open bids for the storm sewer October 9. Motion carried.
Mr. Cassell is to meet with the Committee in regards to a sewer in the Brookmere
Plat, North of Casper street.
Councilman Tuson reported the water oommittee had a meeting for the equipment for the
Sewer Disposal plant and they and'the Engineer Reid recommended the purchase of the
Clarifier from The Dorr Oliver Co.,.instead of the Walker Process. A motion was made
by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Kincaid to reconsider their action of
the last council meeting to purchase the Walker Equipment item lA. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Cguncilman Bishop to purchase
the Clarifier item No. lA from Dbrr Oliver Company, for $10,8114.00 Motion carried:.
A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that me call for
bids for a tttrervesinch°concrete storm sewer to be installed on Ninth avenue from Fir
street to 220th, bids to be opened October 9. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Talen for Attorney
11olte to prepare a resolutimn for sidewalk repair. Motion carried.
Al Holte asked the Council for a variance of the set back for his home on C street
of 17 feet, which was granted by the council with a*motion made by councilman"Tuson
and seconded by Councilman Kincaid. Motion carried.
Engineer Reid reported that the'street 3mprovements'in the Plat of Thomas addition
have been compelted. A motion was made by Councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman
Kincaid that the -streets in°the'Thomas Plat Addition #16 be accepted. -lotion carried.

A -motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilmen Bishop that we accept
the bid of ti$2.75 per foot for side sewer in L. I. D. #70 to Ace Construction Co., the
contractor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Talen that we accept
the street grades as presented by Engineer Reid for the following etreets, Sprague st.
from 7th to 8th, curb grade at third and main st., alley grade Block 1, Yost First addt•
Maple street, ninth to Eleventh. Motion carried.
